Nice house but .......

This house is absolutely lovely inside and as it is situated just outside a very quiet Greek village, it should be ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday. However, a greek family occupy the first floor (with separate entrance) - no mention of this in the advert - and have a workshop at the side of the property (just outside of the kitchen window) where welding and grinding is carried out late afternoon and into the evening - again, no mention of this in the advert. Ok if you are out of the property all day and evening, I suppose, and if you are aware of this prior to booking, but not so good if you want to relax and sunbathe at the property during the day or have a bbq and eat outside the property in the evening !!! Shame really as the house is wonderful. We were booked at the property for 2 weeks but the Katiana kindly moved us to other accommodation after 5 days for which we are very grateful. I could not have stayed there for 2 weeks.
Owner's Response: Like in most traditional Cretan villages, houses are placed close one to another, but have separate entrance and garden. Villa Diktynna is part of family property, but actually shares just the parking space. We apologize for noise or any other disturb from brother's family and promise to take care of it in the future. You are absolutely right insisting in peace during your holiday. But try to understand these people who decided to stay in the villages and work in the fields all day long. Sometimes they can't understand that their present or any kind of work next door can disturb.
Like you mentioned house is lovely and very comfortable. I do my best to satisfy our guests and stay in contact with them and after their holiday. Any suggestion is always welcome.
