One of our best holidays yet

Review Submitted: 15 November 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
This has been one of our best holidays, due to the weather, the Olympics (watching live at Wimbledon!) and on the channels on your Sat. TV!!) The beautiful villages with the well-maintained cottages, the Cotswolds, and above all, your cosy and very comfortable Blue Row Cottage! It really is a beauty with a very nice garden and all the comfort one needs! We would love to come back sometime.

A splendid week

Review Submitted: 15 November 2012 Date of Stay: June 2012
Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?! Our week’s stay in this cosy cottage and colourful (innumerable shades of green) Cotswolds can stand this comparison. Afternoons that came close to the crazy hazy lazy days of summer with bat on ball on country cricket grounds. Our children running and rolling around in lush green gardens, looking for butterflies on the meadows of Blenheim Palace. It won’t get much better than this, I heard myself saying a few times. The cottage itself and the garden has everything a family can wish. Thanks a lot for a splendid week.

Fantastic location and delightful cottage

Review Submitted: 15 November 2012 Date of Stay: January 2012
A fantastic location, delightful cottage and all we could have wanted for the perfect family Christmas in the Cotswolds. We introduced our Australian visitor to the English beers and managed to fit in a tour of the Hook Norton Brewery (a must) and sample the food in the nearby pubs. Pubs have certainly changed since we last lived in England at the start of the 80s (and definitely for the better – great food, atmosphere and no smoke!). the cottage had all we needed for our stay and it was great to be able to stay in touch with family overseas using the WiFi.

September in the Cotswolds

Review Submitted: 03 November 2012 Date of Stay: September 2012
For a longtime it has been my dream to rent a cottage in the Cotswolds. After doing extensive online research I decided on Blue Row Cottage in Swerford. I am most happy to say that my two week stay there greatly exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in to the beautifully maintained property I was thrilled and delighted. The interior was a lovely combination of two hundred year old charm and twentieth century modern amenities such as wireless internet that made living there a real joy. The exterior garden was the perfect place for enjoying a glass of red wine in the afternoon or for dining al fresco. The layout of the home was perfect for my needs and all facilities worked perfectly. The cottage is located in an ideal position for exploring the idyllic Cotswolds towns and villages that dot the countryside. Grocery shopping was easy. From the tiny village store in Swerford to the mega supermarket in Banbury, everything was in easy reach. An excellent restaurant pub,The Masons Arms, was actually within walking distance of the cottage in case cooking was not on the day's program. The attractions in the area are too numerous to list here. I would especially recommend, however, Chipping Campden, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), and Bletchley Park (home of the World War Two codebreakers) as three highlights. Sheila Robson, Blue Row's owner, was superb in every way promptly answering all of my questions and making all financial transactions a breeze. Everything about my holiday was wonderful---except having to leave. I most highly recommend Blue Row cottage to anyone and everyone.
Owner's Response: We are so happy that you loved it as much as we do! You would be welcome again any time.

Well equipped and highly recommended

Review Submitted: 01 August 2012 Date of Stay: July 2012
We spent two wonderful weeks in Blue Row Cottage in July 2012.

Blue Row is in our view an excellent cottage (very well equipped!) and very well located to explore Oxfordshire. Oxford and Stratford are quite nearby and it is very easy to choose one of the beautiful walks from the Rough Guide or the AA 30 Walks.

You will find a lot of information about the surroundings in the cottage (many books and leaflets).

The cottage is very clean and up to date regarding internet facilities (wifi) and sattelite television. A lovely garden is available and the surroundings (small village, church and meadows) are very typical Oxfordshire.

Best walks: Uffington’s White Horse, the Views above the Thames and the Devil’s Chimney.

Best towns nearby: Oxford (musea and colleges of course), Stratford (try to buy a ticket for a performance of the Royal Shakespeare Company!).

We certainly can recommend this cottage for your holiday stay.

Blue Row Cottages, Swerford

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 11 December 2011 Date of Stay: September 2011
We spent two and a half months at Blue Row Cottages, Swerford. My husband was on sabbatical leave and Senior Visiting Professor at St. Anthony's College, Oxford. The cottage is very pleasant and very well equipped with kitchen utensils, dinnerware, bedlinens, towels etc. and a computer. In the summer the garden would be wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and its evirons: the Cotswolds are quite beautiful and Stratford on Avon is a mere 20 miles away. We should love to return and spend some more time in Swerford.
Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your autumn stay.

A perfect English idyll

Review Submitted: 08 November 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
It was a perfect English idyll in this perfect English cottage. We have enjoyed our month here and hate to leave. We love the pheasant that comes to the back garden for breakfast and sometimes dinner. The church bells helped us keep track of time, the mooing of the cows and the baaing of the sheep lulled us to sleep. Tea in the garden on the warm sunny days was the perfect way to end the day before we thought of dinner and the telly. Staying here was a dream come true and we both felt immediately at home at Blue Row. (June 4th 2011, Fort Scott, Texas) See this visitor’s Blue Row blogs:

We liked it a lot here!

Review Submitted: 07 November 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
We liked it a lot to stay here at Blue Row Cottage, the house is really great, nice beds, great soft couch and a lot of space. The garden is lovely. We had breakfast every day in the garden and spent most of the time (when we were here) in it. So the weather was great! We also loved the public footpaths in the area. We were lucky to see a deer, two foxes and a lot of rabbits. The views were great. Also the Hook Norton Brewery must be mentioned, great tour and nice beer! So thank you very much for letting us stay here! Groetjes! (29th July 2011, Netherlands)

Great cottage in quiet and beautiful area

Review Submitted: 13 August 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011
We enjoyed the cottage a lot.
The cottage was clean and looks very nice, it is very spacious and has a big garden.
The documentation in the cottage help us finding our way.
We enjoyed going to Oxford and the Hook Northon Brewery.
The thing we (Dutch family with 3 children aged 10, 13 and 15) enjoyed most were the footpaths surrounding the cottage. These are really great, I think everyone should try them.

We are not used to this landscape (the Netherlands is very flat), but walking and climing these paths makes us experience the English countrysite with its beautifull views. When we walked during sunset we also saw a deer and two foxes (and many rabbits).

I would certainly recommend this cottage to other people.

Owner's Response: We're glad you enjoyed it in spite of having had poor weather for your stay. That's why we make so much effort to ensure guests know about all the interesting things to do locally - then if the weather is not so nice, you can still have an enjoyable holiday.

Peaceful and quiet - just gorgeous!

Review Submitted: 09 August 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
Just thought I'd touch base with you and let you know that we've had a fabulous week here in Swerford! It's so peaceful and quiet yet easily accessible to the places we wanted to visit and your cottage is just gorgeous! I've even put some bird seed in the feeders as I do love animals. Even enjoyed watching the cows in the field next door and the pheasant that regularly visits in the back yard! Wouldn't hesitate to return to Blue Row!
