We arrived on Saturday, Feb 23rd and the first thing we did was go outside on the lanai. Great view of the ocean. We saw sea turtles, dolphins and many whales go by. Very relaxing sitting on the lanai watching the whales. The weather was beautiful everyday. We went with another couple and the second bedroom was set up as a king bed. Both bedrooms have ensuites attached. Both beds were very comfortable. The pool deck is overlooking the ocean. The pool was clean and the yard was well kept. The BBQ is just a few steps away from the condo and the charcoal briquettes were replaced every day. Restaurants and beaches within walking distance. The kitchen is well equiped. The condo is 25 minutes from the airport and very easy to find. There are many hiking trails and the Waimea canyon is a must to see. Another must is the Smith luau. Just driving the island and looking at the landscape around you was breath taking. I loved my stay there and I will return.

The condo was perfect. The door to the unit was right off the parking lot. The trail to the viewing deck and pool area was right next to our door. We were able to see the ocean from our Laini. There is another condo unit to the left that blocks that view and the right has the rest of this units' rooms staggered forward, so it partially blocks the right view. With that said, the view is still wonderful and the benefit of being able walk out the door and be just steps from the deck areas was just perfect!

We watched whales breaching, dolphins and sea turtles from our door or the decks. The weather was incredible! We drove down the road a short way to Poipu Beach everyday, where the kids experienced snorkeling, paddle boats, and lots of water fun. The owners of the condo, Rod and Mike, provided us with beach chairs, umbrella, beach cooler, beach towels, and boogie boards. There was nothing we could have wanted.

Rod and Mike also went above and beyond with our request for something to help us celebrate Christmas by providing us with a lit tree and ornaments, and other things to decorate the place. The kids were very happy to have a tree that Santa was able to put presents under.

The condo unit itself had just the right amount of furniture and dishes. Having the washer and dryer was a blessing. We were never too warm or too cold. The one wish we all had during our stay was that the sprinkler system would not have to turn on at 5:45 every morning. The sprinklers were just outside our windows. However, being up that early was helpful for watching the sunrise and we never really minded. Besides, the roosters weren't far behind the sprinklers anyway.

We had so many wonderful experiences and wished we could stay forever. When we come back to Kauai we will be staying at this place. We had 14 and 11 year old children with us on this trip. They had so much fun doing all the things Kauai had to offer. We drove to the North side and found that the traffic on that side was crazy! We drove to the top of the mountain and did the Pihea Trail. Wow! I can tell you now how it feels to be on the top of the world. It was amazing!

We went deep sea fishing with The Big Ta Do. We caught 3 yellow fin tuna and several other small fish. The captain was generous and we ate fresh Ahi Tuna for days!!

We were very happy with our condo choice, it came as a recommendation from another couple who stayed there. We loved it!!

When we arrived we quickly realized it is one of those unusual instances where the pictures don't do it justice....the water is RIGHT there, the condo was immaculate, and the lanai is enormous. Large kitchen, incredibly comfy bed, great beach gear, books, DVD's, and delicious smelling body products. Every time we thought it couldn't get better, we found some new thing- like playing cards or a great beach read. But, let's be real; the huge lanai is where we spent most of our time.

Location is perfect for walkers; beach, some food, Popui Kai resort trail, Hyatt: all within walking distance. The pre-vacation goodie box was so thoughtful and we really used quite a few of the brochures.

As in other reviews, the parking lot is right there which makes loading/unloading easy, but also means one side of the lanai is "on" the parking lot" Luckily- it is a small lot (another reason to LOVE small condo buildings) so not much goes on, or is disruptive, but just to be aware of. Even though the lanai is on the 1st floor and people do walk by to get to the BBQ or deck, it still feels private.

What a great find. Traveling with two children aged 9 and 7, I knew I wanted a condo for the space, kitchen , LAUNDRY, etc. Never having been to Kauai it was a daunting task to sift through all of the choices on the island. My family is very active so Poipu was a great location for us because of the proximity to both Poipu beach (great snorkeling) and Brennecke beach (great boogie boarding), Waimea Canyon (hiking), Port Allen (launching point for boat trips to the Napoli Coast) and Wailea River (kayaking).

Poipu Palms #101 was a great location in Poipu. It is between the Grand Hyatt and Poipu Beach. You can walk to the beach, but we choose to drive because of all the beach gear (coolers, chairs, towles-all of which were provided for us). One of the big things we appreciated was the ease from the parking lot to our downstairs unit (5-10 ft). It made unloading very easy.

Key points which stand out about condo

1. Owner is very easy to work with. He is quick to respond and take care of any questions/concerns.

2. Apartment is very clean. Appliances are updated. Kitchen is well appointed.

3. Laundry is in apartment (the door in a front loading washer must remain open to avoid mildew smell-- our clothes smelled fine/clean)

4. Beds are comfortable.

5. View is beautiful, although not 180 degrees, there is a building blocking the view to the left.

6. Beach chairs, boogie boards etc.. in good condition.

7. Shampoo/conditioners were wonderful, I know this is a small thing but sometimes the little touches can make a difference.

Overall a great experience and a wonderful vacation!

The condo was spacious and comfortable. We were quite pleased with the bedroom accommodations including mattresses, pillows and bedding. The master bedroom has an incredible view - from the bed to the ocean, if the sliding doors are left ajar. However, the bathrooms were extremely small and difficult to maneuver once inside, due to the layout of the toilets. I have a few recommendations/concerns: 1) The washing machine had a mildew smell that lingered on our clothes and should be cleaned or replaced. 2) I contacted The Parrish Company twice to come and replace the front porch light which was out. They never did, and it was difficult to see the key hole to unlock the door in the evening. Since this was a girl's weekend, we didn't feel completely safe leaving our vehicle to approach the condo in the dark due to the extremely steep grade of the parking lot. 3) In past stays at VRBO properties, we had unlimited toiletries and kitchen supplies. When I called Parrish Housekeeping for more garbage bags and dishwasher soap, I was informed they only stock enough for a couple of days and I'd have to purchase my own after that. This was very disappointing as they stated it also included toilet paper & tissue. I believe all these items should be supplied and included in the rental price. 4) I would recommend adding basic spices to the condo for cooking simple meals, BBQ, etc. We didn't even have salt & pepper in our unit. 5) I would also like to suggest adding a map in the Condo Rules Packet to include access to the beach from the condo. I was under the impression that the Hyatt Hotel was directly next door and it would be an easy walk to the beach. We found the path, but not after walking quite a ways due to the adjoining condo's not having beach access either. 6) The outdoor candles should be replaced on a regular basis, as we would have enjoyed ourselves more on the large lanai. I enjoyed receiving the "welcome package" prior to our arrival with the local activity/event pamphlets and extra goodies from our condo owner. It was a very special touch. I would rate this condo a "9" if the above items were addressed. The Poipu Shopping Center is a must for breakfast & dinner and all those trinkets you want to bring home to your friends & family. Brennike Beach is the best location to view turtles up close and a wonderful area to sit under a tree and read a good book! We did have a wonderful time and would recommend this condo to others.

My family (2 adults, 1 child) stayed in Poipu Palms 101. The condo was excellent! We arrived in the dark of night and when we awoke the next morning my husband sat up in bed and saw the ocean. It made his trip! The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed, ie boogie boards, a cooler, etc. It was clean and very comfortable. We loved relaxing after dinner on the balcolny in the great outdoor sitting areas. Every morning after our runs we would go down to the deck on the ocean where we would finish our exercises and were enamoured with the ocean views. We would see whales and even a pod of dolphins. The owner had a map with directions and keys waiting for us. He was excellent to deal with. We hopefully will be able to return soon. We highly recommend this condo! Winnipeg, Canada

This was the most perfect vacation. The apartment sits on the ocean, it is beautifully appointed with everything you could wish for. The help we received before our trip was fantastic and the journey from England was definitely worth it. If you are thinking of visiting Kauai then this is the pace to stay.We were there 17-24 December 2011 and did not want to leave. Val & Mike. Derbyshire England.

We had a great vacation. The owner was very helpful and prompt to answering any questions we had. What you see is what you get. The view was fantastic, the lanai was large and the condo was clean and comfortable. We had friends that stayed in another unit at this condo and we had by far, a much nicer place. It is about a 5 minute walk to Brennecke and Poipu beaches. We saw so many turtles from the deck that we were amazed. Our 2 teenager had a great time, too. Would definitely go there again!!
