Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in .3rd Le Marais - Paris Marais Getaway
One bedroom, sleeps 4, private garden

Our incredibly charming duplex loft is ideally located in the best part of the trendy Marais district in Paris, just steps away from the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the Centre Pompidou, the Picasso Museum (reopening Summer 2013), galleries, restaurants and shops. This newly renovated house has a bedroom with office space upstairs, a bathroom with a large shower, an open kitchen, a dining area and a living space with a convertible sofa that has a very comfortable mattress. It sits tucked away in the quiet second courtyard behind a 17th century hôtel particulier and has its own garden space with outdoor furniture. You’ll love the light streaming in through the glass roof and the huge sliding glass doors that look out onto your private cobblestone outdoor space.

You enter the apartment by going through the large cobblestone courtyard of the landmark Hôtel de Cornuel, through the building into the calm second courtyard and then through a hallway that leads to the ground floor duplex loft.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, multi-function oven, induction cooktop, refrigerator with freezer and all of the cooking equipment you’ll need. There’s also an all in one washer/dryer.

The living room has a comfortable convertible sofa with a real thick mattress for two that you’ll definitely get your sleep on if there are four of you. There’s a flat screen TV and of course free WiFi and telephone. Feel free to browse the books in the huge bookcase next to the stairs. The furniture has been carefully chosen and boasts some design classics such as the colorful Eames chairs in the dining area or the Noguchi prism table next to the sofa.

The all white bathroom has a 90cmx90cm shower, a washbasin, a toilet and plenty of storage.

The bedroom is upstairs and has a Queen size bed (160cm x 200cm), a desk and storage for your clothes and luggage. There’s also a plush, leather Eames lounge chair with foot rest to ease your tired feet from all of the walking. A curtain can be pulled to close off the sleeping area if you need to sleep in the dark. You can also watch TV on a flat screen at the foot of the bed.

The lushly planted outdoor space is the icing on the cake. It’s private and makes for a lovely view. It’s equipped with a table and chairs as well as lighting that makes outdoor dining a pleasure.

Clean sheets and towels are provided.

The weekly cleaning fee is 70 Euros. Extra cleaning services are available.

A baby bed is available upon request.

My husband and I are both architects living between New York and Paris. I grew up in Germany, England, the US and moved to France to study architecture. I also have a Masters of Architecture from Columbia University in New York. We have two children who are currently enrolled at the International School of Brooklyn.

Jessica Label-Blandin purchased this apartment in 2000

We bought our property in the year 2000 and transformed it into an architecture studio with a large duplex apartment for ourselves above. With our move to New York and our trans-atlantic traveling, we decided to transform the rear part of the office into an independent apartment.

When we first visited our place, we immediately fell in love with it. It's tucked away in a second courtyard where we wake up to hear birds singing. It has a country feel to it although it's in the middle of the city. The building you have to go through to enter the second courtyard is a landmark 'hôtel particulier' and both courtyards still have the original large cobblestones. There's a huge tree in the private courtyard that the rental looks out onto. It's very green, quiet and bucolic, which gives us an exceptional quality of life, being also in the heart of Paris. It's a modern, contemporary space in the heart of one of the oldest landmark areas of Paris.

We stayed in this treehouse for a week to celebrate the New Year in Paris... The Marais location (our favorite arrondisement for lodging) is central and calm, as it is tucked away behind two courtyards. The small apartment, designed by owners/architects, has a full wall of windows and skylights that brighten the place and give you a view into the trees. It feels much larger than it is; we hosted five guests for aperitifs one evening with no problem. Jessica and Philippe were available and affable.

We rented this amazing little apartment for our first Christmas in Paris. And, as a family we thought it was Perfect. The layout has everything you need to support an active trip. The apartment was clean and neat. Jessica was wonderful and easy to work with and the location is ideal with plenty of small restaurants and food stores within a block or so. We even found a place to carry out coffee for our kids! We highly recommend this apartment. And, hope to book it again ourselves in the future.

Great loft, couldn't ask for more. Wonderful bed in loft. Perfect for just watching the autumn leaves fall. Even the rain couldn't dampen our wonderful stay.
Wonderful location, felt like a local not just a tourist.
The only negative was that it came to end . Can't wait to go back.

Gorgeously designed, with the obvious fine touch of an architect. Location couldn't be any better, right in the middle of trendy le Marais and a stone's throw from so many of the best shops, restaurants, bars, etc.. Love the outdoor space too -- beautiful!

This upbeat apartment was a great alternative to trying to squeeze into a hotel room or two and is in a great location. Plenty of cafes and shops around and close to several Velib bicycle rental stations which ended up being our primary source of transportation and it's fun! We shared the two beds with our 2 tween kids which was fine for now. It would be helpful to have some instructions on the washer/dryer and the microwave but there are 3 laundromats within a few blocks which was very convenient. The apartment is clean and quiet as it is set back thru two courtyards which eliminated any street noise. Jessica was very easy to work with and her communication was truly helpful. I'm ready to go back right now!

Just as promised, a really cool NY style apartment in a nice central neighbourhood of beautiful Paris. Really felt as home. It was all we could have hoped for. Only thing better was the kindness of Jessica, the owner.

The apartment has been renovated to a bright and efficient space. The furniture is very comfortable, the bed space is awesome. I love that view through the roof window. Honestly, if I hadn't been in Paris I would have been just happy to stay in bed! (uh , and if I didn't have a toddler wanting to go go go) . Which brings me to Paris with a toddler. It was a wonderful experience, made more so, by Jessica who -being a mom- knew so much about what to do with a little one, had a pack and play installed and told us how to get to what park/garden/playground around us. The location is more than we could ask for. About a five minute walk from a stop on Ligne 1, bus lines going east and south and the Marche des enfant rouges just up the street, with a wonderful variety of foods from around the world. The apartment is very quiet and relaxing. And its location unbeatable. And guess what? no stairs to climb with you luggage!

We would stay again in a heartbeat! This apartment was a perfect combination of comfort and access to a wonderful neighborhood.

We have been to Paris several times and have always stayed in the 7th arrondissement, but craved a new experience. I am so glad we switched things up because Le Marais was charming. It feels like a "real" neighborhood, kind of a village-like feel. Lots of friendly people (singles, couples, and families), fantastic shops (great focus on design and clothing), and wonderful boulangeries, cafes, & restaurants. Even though more eateries were closed than usual, we where there in August, it was easy to find a quality and enjoyable meal without stress.

As for the studio, we loved it. It has all the comfort features necessary. It is bright and cheery. We experienced both a sweltering and cool day, and the temperature in the studio was comfortable. The skylights, with views of the branches and leaves of a gorgeous tree make you feel like you're in a tree house!

Finally, Jessica is easy and wonderful to work with. She was great getting us all necessary information and had a colleague meet us on location to make our arrival stress free.

Had 3 days here in this delightful apartment which is exactly as described . All accurate regards the lay out, location etc and very well maintained and clean. Really comfortable bed and thanks to the superb design it felt much larger thanks actually was. the stairs may not be user friendly to anyone with mobility probs. The owners were very helpful although we met only Philippe. The advice they gave us regards restaurants were spot on and queries i had were always answered straight away. def would stay again and recommend to friends. The friendly cat likes to sleep in the bed with you but impossible to stop it doing so ! The neighbour is not so nice and complained about us havig a Skype conversation with our daughter but he didn't bother us. Fab location. Thanks to the owners.

We were very happy with this rental. We had enough room for our family (4 people), and were surprised at the privacy in the heart of Paris. The district was safe and close to everything. What a wonderful find! I would highly recommend this apartment. The owners were very accommodating and easy to deal with.
