400 sqft Studio with integrated kitchen and separate bathroom, 2 private gazebos

50 ft. from the waterline a small flock of three separated cottages on a beautiful and safe plot of land. (Fenced) Few steps to the sea. Nicely renovated 1 studio cottages with vaulted high ceiling, ca. 400 sq.ft. (about 37 square meters), large comfortable double bed (King size), separate sofa/bed (2m x 90cm), view to the sea, inside and outside eating area, built in kitchen, separate windowed bathroom with marble tiling, Shower, sink, toilet. Studio room has full A/C. Private outside Gazebo with table and chairs, with unobstructed view to the sea. Shared large sunbathing terrace with old trees, sunbeds, shower directly on the beach. It would be hard to be closer to the sea or in a more relaxing spot with the soft sound of the waves around you. And it would be hard to find such a safe location far away from the big cities but still in short walking distance (ca. 650 ft, ca. 200m) of a friendly little fishing village with many original tavernas and cafes. Located directly above and on a beach on one of the most famously beautiful parts of Crete’s coast - the Gulf of Mirabello - the light and shades of blue changing with the hours of the day. It would be hard to be closer to the sea or in a more relaxing spot. The beach itself is a long and pretty curve of pebbles, with natural shade from tamarind trees. Just across the water lies the deserted island of Spinalonga with its poignant history and atmospheric ruins and from Plaka’s small harbour it is possible to join a boat to explore the island or hire one for pottering up and down the coast. Plaka also has shops and good tavernas serving fish and other Greek specialities. The walking distance between the properties and the village is less than 5 minutes along the road behind the beach. The village and complete area is a very safe place, far away from any large city. The less than 200 inhabitants that almost all live of fishing or tourism. A watersport is located within the beach area.

Booking conditions:

• Cancellation - By the Client: 8 weeks or before your arrival, the deposit will be non-refundable. Less than 8 weeks prior to your arrival, the total cost of the accommodation will be non-refundable if we, the owners, are unable to recover the income by re renting.

Force Majeure - We are unable to accept responsibility for any aspect of your holiday arrangements beyond our control such as threats of war, civil commotion, riots, industrial disputes, earthquakes or natural disasters, government action or travel delays caused by any reason Subletting. The accommodation is provided for the sole use of the Clients named on the booking form. Subletting or assignment of the property is not permitted.

Insurance: - The Client is strongly advised to take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance for all members of the party. Rental Period The rental period commences at 1400hrs on the first day and ends at 1000hrs on the last day.

• Health & Safety: We cannot accept any responsibility for your health & safety while staying at the property. We will provide guidelines at the property to assist you in minimizing any risks to your safety. Security: Crete is still a very safe location and does not have a high incidence of crime. Actually Greece has one of the lowest crime rates in all Europe. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to property or persons during the course of your booking. Damage caused to the property and/or its contents The Client must accept full responsibility for damage and breakages to the property and goods. All such damages and breakages will be charged for at replacement value and must be paid for prior to departure.

The area of Plaka and Elounda is probably the most desired area in all eastern Crete. Not only because of the cristal clear mostly quiet water of the sheltered bay that makes it ideal for swimming, relaxin or watersports. But also because of the famous fortress island of Spinalonga that lies directly in front of the property, just about half a mile over the bay. The most expensive hotels of all southern Europe are located in the area of Plaka and Elounda : Blue Palace Hotel, Plaka - Elounda Beach Hotel, Elounda - Elounda Mare Hotel Elounda etc.

We have done a very good job with constructions of natural stone and wood to give every cottage a lot of privacy by separating the sitting and sunbathing areas close to your cottage, a thing not self understood even in the bungalows of the large hotels.

you are uniquely close to the beach with a nice mix of your private gazebo and sunbathing areas just a few feet from the waterline. At night you can enjoy the moonlight on the sea and the soft sound of the little waves on the beach through your open windows. Pleasures that you pay a fortune for in one of the bungalows of the big hotels. And still you are not in the middle of nowhere but in short walking distance to a small fishing village with lots of nice taverns, a small supermarket etc.

A hideaway with a perfect outlook

We were greeted warmly after a delayed flight by Christine, who was to be a superb help during our stay. Kolokitha Sudio was spotlessly clean and kept so during our stay by a marvellous cleaner. All the fittings, bedlinen and equipment were new and functioned perfectly.
The private terrace area with sunbeds was blissful ! a few steps to the water and with excellent views across to Spinalonga. Accessing the sea from the pebble beach is eased by water shoes. Great location for the local village (2 mins walk),which has about 8 tavernas and a small supermarket. Going to Spinalonga on the first boat was a wise decision, in view of the large numbers later on. The Carob Tree was easily the best and cheapest place to eat and drink with excellent customer service. Would highly recommend for a quiet, restful break.
