In 2008, Quebec City has been celebrating its 400th anniversary of existence. It was founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain and people have been living in it since then. For the occasion, additional sectors of the city have been renovated so that it is more attractive than ever, all year long.
Located along the St-Lawrence River, its port section is a must. And the old walled section of the city, on the cliff around the famous Chateau Frontenac, is also a must. Museums, cycling paths in and around the city, numerous shopping centres close to the centre of the city, the Montmorency waterfalls, the famous Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre basilica (second largest church in North America), the Mont-Ste-Anne and the Massif ski resorts only 30 minutes away, among other attractions, make the Quebec City region a must all year long.
