Promanja is a wonderful little seaside resort on the Dalmatian Coast. The proximity of the striking Biokovo Mountain is a real treat for walkers, mountain bikers, para-gliders and artists. There are numerous well marked trails into the mountains, ranging from leisurely strolls to tough mountaineering exercises. The rich flora and fauna of the Biokovo Mountains have meant that the area has been declared National Park, with caves littering the landscape, perfect for exploration. The walk from a holiday rental villa in Promanja to Baska Voda, sandwiched between sea and rock, is one of the most awe-inspiring trails you can take, taking around 45 minutes without allowing time to take a refreshing dip in the sea or bite to eat in one of the scenic, traditional restaurants that appear along the way.
The beautiful islands of Brac and Hvar are both easily accessible form a holiday rental property in Promanja. There are regular ferries leaving for the islands, and if you would like to experience some real Croatian hospitality, fine foods and stunning natural environments, the journey is defiantly worth it.
Summers in Promanja are wonderfully hot. Average monthly temperatures in July and August average almost 32˚C, with daily peaks regularly reaching the mid-30’s. During these periods the beaches that surround the village are absolutely irresistible. Even during the winter, average temperatures remain above 10˚C, keeping the soaring peaks of the Biokovo Mountains open for walking, riding and climbing.
The closest airport to a holiday rental property in Promanja is the Split International Airport (SPU). Located within an hour’s drive, it is worth while arranging a hire car before leaving the UK, as public transport is not ideal for easy holidays. There are a huge range of regular flights to Promanja from across the UK provided by airlines including British Airways and Thomas Cook.
