We are a small group of owners, who, between us, own 50 apartments, villas and pool properties, in and around central Spoleto, many of which we offer as holiday rental properties. Norma and Laurie organise the holiday rentals. Norma responds to your email enquiries and deals with the bookings, while, Norma's husband, Laurie, meets you and responds to any needs or requirements that you may have. We take pride in offering a very personal service. Our background is in academia. However, after 8 years of retirement in Umbria, during which we wintered in Sydney, Australia, we were persuaded by someone to rent our house in Umbria to them for a few weeks. It was an interesting and enjoyable experience. Our lives had become a little "samey". And, we were tiring of living in perpetual summer. So, we thought Why not ? Let's start doing stuff again ! We sold our apartment in London, borrowed money from everywhere we could and bought more property in Umbria.
We are in the extremely privileged position to be able to offer dream holidays to everyone. We introduce our guests to a vast variety of activities….. interesting places to visit, cooking and language classes, wine etiquette/tasting, olive oil tasting and white water rafting etc; and, we list all our favourite restaurants and bars, in and around central Spoleto, based on our personal experiences and those of our guests. Our aim is to enable our guests to “feel at home” in the most wondrous of environments, to feel immersed in a culture that for ever has prioritised “the good life”, which includes eating and drinking the finest foods and wines at really great rates, and, to totally relax.
Picking up and dropping off from the train station for those without a car. Arranging weekly feasts at a celebrated Spoleto chef’s house/garden. Arranging pizza and pasta cooking classes, specially designed to start at 5.00 pm, in order to include younger children. Advising on a wide variety of cookery classes – can always be booked at the last minute. Advising on chauffeur driven trips, either locally or further afield, with our trusty “cabbie”, who also does airport runs in a darkened windows Mercedes – a great way to travel ! Taking longer term, car-free guests to the supermarket to do “the big shop”. Being on hand to advise in emergency situations eg we can usually provide a translation service, free of charge, if it is for something not too time-consuming. Otherwise, the fee would be lower than usual. We can arrange special events eg weddings, anniversaries and conferences…..almost anything, in fact ! And, at lower rates than anywhere else.
