Perdido Key, also known as Lost Key, is located on the extreme west of Florida's Gulf Coast between Pensacola and Orange Beach, Alabama. This barrier island of white sand stretches for 16 miles but is often no more than a few hundred yards wide. Temperatures average 33°C (92°F) during the day in July and August. Winters are warm, dry and sunny with temperatures averaging 15-22°C (59-72°F) during the day and about 10°C cooler at night. There may be the occasional cold snap with temperatures dropping below freezing.
The nearest major airport to Perdido Key holiday rentals is Pensacola Gulf Coast (PNS) Regional Airport which is three miles northeast of the city of Pensacola. From the airport it is an easy 22 mile drive along Highway 292 to Perdido Key which is reached by a bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. Those driving to the area from other states will find it very easy to reach from the I-10 and Hwy 292.
