Enjoy the view, swimming in the pool in season or just lounging in our spacious two bedroom, two bath bright, tasteful and thoroughly modern poolside duplex apartment. No details have been spared in our creation of an elegant space suitable for short or long term living. The apartment accommodates two couples or a family with older children in exceptional comfort. Our fully equipped top of the line kitchen includes a DCS 5 burner stove, Liebherr refrigeration, Bosch dishwasher and carefully selected cutlery and porcelain dinnerware. A full sized washer and drier and everything you need for an extended stay are included in a separate utility room. Lovely views over the pool to Puget Sound will enhance your stay day and night.

The apartment has every convenience including a professionally installed JBL surround sound system, 42 inch HDTV, wi-fi, and free telephones for calling in the USA. An office space is also provided and furnished with copier/scanner and fax. We provide all towels, fine linens, soaps, detergents and a half pound of fresh organic coffee beans upon your arrival. The home is equipped with hydronic heating through polished concrete floors for year round comfort. Construction quality is self evident upon arrival. Details include period wainscoting, fine custom cabinets with solid granite counter tops, custom tile in kitchen and baths and the highest quality fixtures, providing luxury that is more than just skin deep.

Local shopping includes Whole Foods, artisan bakeries, specialty shops, and all of Queen Anne's many fine stores and restaurants for fine and casual dining. A dedicated off street space for one vehicle is always provided, and additional free parking is available on the street.

We built this apartment for ourselves, but welcome you, our guests, to enjoy it's many charms. This property is new to the market but our pride in it will be evident as soon as you open the door. Enjoy your stay. Our goal is to make sure you come back again and again.

About Lew Barrett

Lew and Lindy Barrett have lived in Seattle since 1979 and in this home since 1984. Recently retired, we owned our own business for 32 years. Our home has been central to our lives in the city and we hope it will become so in yours as well.

Lew enjoys boating, photography, music, writing and woodworking. Lindy is a musician and artist. One of our daughters is a teacher, while the other two are working musicians, one in Nashville, the other here in Seattle.

Our 1928 architecturally significant house was deigned by Elsworth Storey, one of Seattle's most prominent architects. It has been updated and maintained with our full respect for it's heritage, while adding all of the features expected of a fully modern structure. It speaks for itself.

What makes this apartment unique

Heated pool in season, gourmet kitchen, hydronically heated polished concrete floors, full sized washer and drier, professional quality, sophisticated surround sound AV system and HDTV, wi-fi. Two bed and two baths, full leather headboards, the master with en-suite bathtub, using the best available fixtures and fittings. Tasteful, comfortable and handsome furniture, including heirloom quality pieces of distinction by Emeco and Schoener/Henredon.

The spacious great room with open plan to kitchen and dining areas lead to a separate office with copier/fax/scanner. Generous closets in each room including a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Custom tile in kitchen and baths will garner the attention of those who have experience in doing the details correctly.

On demand water heaters ensure an ample supply for all needs.

We have been staying in this VRBO for several months. The apartment and its facilities are as advertised. The pictures do not do it justice -- while they are accurate, they cannot convey how lovely the place is. The spaces are extremely well thought out. The amenities, appliances and features are all new and first rate. The apartment is impeccably maintained and spotless. The beds are excellent as well . The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and shops. Its a beautiful neighborhood with parks close by and walking routes with incredible views. We like it so much that we reserved it again for some time this fall. We joke that we could easily become permanent fixtures there. If you need a two bedroom apartment in Seattle near all the attractions, with great interiors and lovely outdoor spaces, we can recommend Lindy and Lew's apartment without the least reservation.

This home is beautiful, well-designed, impeccably maintained and thoughtfully stocked with helpful items. The views are gorgeous, and we found the location to be a perfect base from which to explore the city. And the beds!!! Wow - they are seriously comfortable. Quite lovely, indeed.

Do note that the owners live in the unit upstairs. They were entirely respectful of our privacy, but we did hear them up above us at times. It wasn't a problem for us (and doesn't move this review down a notch), but I thought I should mention it as it could potentially bother some travelers.

A really great place.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Nothing could be finer

A magnificent home, perfect location for us. We felt totally relaxed and "at home". The owners are very gracious and accomodating. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, everything clean and in excellent condition. Our mobility challenged parents were very comfortable and felt safe and secure while moving around. The designated parking place on the street was greatly appreciated. I would not hesitate to return here again.

This lovely rental reflects the care and thought that went into its conception. The space is bright, beautifully designed and immaculate, and the gracious hosts have anticipated every need in the well-equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Comfortable, roomy and affording privacy, this is the perfect accommodation for two couples to share while visiting Seattle.

This is a wonderful little apartment in the heart of a beautiful residential neighborhood. We were 2 couples staying in this wonderfully appointed apartment. We felt like we had plenty of room and privacy even though the apartment is small. The visual and traffic flow between the apartment and the pool are outstanding ... we felt like we were in a luxurious resort. It as a joy to be there nightly to watch the sunset over the ocean. The kitchen was lovely to work in (breakfasts only as there are fabulous restaurants within walking), took a lot of cues from it for my own home that is under construction. The beds are on the firm side for those of you who have an affinity for a certain type of mattress. Several unexpected highlights for us was visiting with the wonderful pets of Lew and Lindy (homeowners), and walking the neighborhood, amazing heritage architecture all around. Lew was highly informative about the areas amenities (eateries) and very enjoyable to visit with. We were there without a vehicle and walked everywhere. We enjoyed the exercise ... allowed us to eat more!:-) however it is not for the faint of heart, tons of hills/stairs. It took as about 45 minutes to walk downtown however there is a lovely area about 10-15 minutes away with lots of restaurants (not much shopping). We would stay here again and would recommend it highly.
