About this property

3 bedroom Cabin on large lot with 150 feet of lakeshore. Great water recreation and great fishing. Large lot has a sand VB court, lots of space for yard games, also has two play systems and tepee for kids. A small rowboat, paddle boat, swim dock, bikes and lift available too. Pickleball, Biking trails, golf courses and state park near by...I rent weekly+ in the summer from mid-June to mid-August. Otherwise pretty negotiable.

WINTER RENTING - max of 8 people, the bunkhouse is not heated and therefore unavailable during cold weather months.

During the warmer weather, it has an additional bunk house and travel trailer for guests. Lake Minnewaska is the 13th largest lake in Minnesota, it is nestled between the two quaint towns of Starbuck and Glenwood, it has four restaurant and bars on the lake, two fantastic beaches and one of the sandiest and cleanest lakes in the state.

Many beautiful fall/winter weekends available!! Maximum of 8 renters in colder months

Ed was a gracious host and communicated well. He even texted the next morning after a severe thunderstorm to check on us. It was an extremely hot week, which highlighted some shortcomings with the property, as it forced us inside most days. Pros: the big yard was great for the kids, especially the volleyball court. It was a lifesaver that the house was air conditioned. The lake is beautiful. There were lots of athletic gear provided, including bikes. The kids loved having the bunkhouse as their play/sleeping area. Cons: We had 4 couples but only three bedrooms. The bunkhouse was not insulated and even with the two small window units Ed provided running constantly, it has often unbearably hot in there. The water front was mucky and weedy, not very conducive to swimming. The only water craft available was row boat. There was little room indoors for eating or sitting. Poorly functioning door knobs in key areas were a problem, especially for the kids. Dim lighting made it hard for reading or playing games. We would recommend this rental for groups that can comfortably fit in the house. Use by larger groups like ours (8 adults, 6 children) leaves you dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Lovely long weekend. Host was great at check in. Property had all we needed. Outside was tye best. Fishing was the best! Definitely stay again.

My name is Ed Roche, my wife is Kim, I am a school teacher and Kim works in the Physical Therapy field. We have six kids between us. We enjoy our kids and the lakes in the summer.

Why they chose this property

Great area and great lake. The Minnewaska area has a small town feel w/ lots of outdoor things to do. The lake has two fantastic beaches on each end of the lake on what has to be one of the sandiest lakes in Minnesota. It also has four restaurant/bars you can pull your boat up to in between a great tubing/fishing session! The Rolling Forks Winery is a huge addition to the area. Great wine, food, entertainment and a fantastic view of the lake! This area is also known for it's golf w/ many great courses w/in just a few miles of the cabin. It doesn't get any better than being on a beautiful lake on a hot summer day, hunting and fishing in the crisp fall air or snowmobiling from one great destination to another in the winter. Lake Minnewaska has it all!

What makes this property unique

The area, lake and large lot making it great for families and kids. The VB court gets lots of use! This is a great community w/ lots of stuff to do and events just about every weekend!
