Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Brooklin - Kelley Point
Probably no other architect of his time did more to change the face of America than Benjamin C. Thompson - Robert Campbell, Boston Globe.
Kelley Point provides a unique opportunity to live and experience the inspirational design of one of Americas leading architects, Benjamin C. Thompson. Built in harmony with nature, the 3 br home blends a rustic contemporary style with massive windows to capture stunning scenery. Thompson designed what he liked to call a caterpillar house, with the term referring to the long, zig-zagging design of the house. He took pains to ensure that the house would blend in with surrounding trees and be inconspicuous from the water.
The house looks out on Big Babson Island, which is owned by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and is open to picnickers and day visitors.
Extra option: guest cottage bunk-house (ideal for kids) with kitchenette and bath, available in addition to the main house for $300 per week.
Private beach; secluded; beautiful views; Viking six-burner stove, Mooring and use of shared dock possible - inquire for more details!
