WELL APPOINTED, PRIVATE CAPE COD CONTEMPORARY WITH INSPIRING VIEWS!

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Yarmouth Port - Gray's Beach House

Property sleeps 6 -7 with 2 full baths

This has to be one of the top ten views on Cape Cod! The view covers a beautiful winding estuary, striking sand dunes, Sandy Neck Lighthouse, Barnstable Harbor, and miles beyond! The feeling is a combination of the awe of nature and a special feeling of peacefulness.

The house has been renovated inside and out. The new multi level deck system has stainless steel cable rails that showcase the signature view. Inside, the house is spacious, with high ceilings and attractive furnishings.

The property also overlooks the Gray's Beach boardwalk. The boardwalk allows people to walk out into the marsh and get a better view of the bay. Our house is privately situated , nestled on a short dirt lane the ends at the property. There are three structures on our point of land, two houses and a cottage, all of which are surrounded by over 300 acres of conservation land. The setting is rural, with wildlife and nature dominating the scene. We have a very close view of the osprey nest and there are two additional osprey nests in the woods behind our property. It's hard to capture the feeling in words or a photo, but this place is special. The view goes for 10-20 miles and covers 270 degrees of you line of site. The first level of view is the salt marsh with the winding estuary, the second level is Cape Cod bay and the sand dunes, and the third level is of Barnstable Harbor and the Sandy Neck lighthouse.

There are three decks, all at different levels. The upper deck, off the loft bedroom, captures the best view, showcasing the birds in flight, swooping and diving, the ospreys with their catches of the day and the sunsets. The sunsets here are well known in Cape Cod's 'Sunset Alley'. The minute you get here, you'll know that you're on vacation.

The new Barnstable airport is just 15 minutes away and the Nantucket ferry terminal is also just 15 minutes away.

We are a mile and a half north of historic Route 6A. Cape Cod playhouse is 15 minutes away, 5 star restaurants are within the same distance. Route 6A is well known for antique shops, clam shacks and art galleries. The quaint village of Yarmouth Port has excellent examples of 19th century homes lining Route 6A and showcases classic New England villages along it's scenic drive.

Bedroom #1 is located on the mezzanine level and is the largest bedroom. It has 14' ceilings and a skylight. There is a king sized bed (firm)and a single daybed in the room with a 32' flat screen HDTV. The room is air conditioned and has a large closet. There is original art, carvings and paintings that adorn the room. The walls are freshly painted a very relaxing shade of grey mist.

Bedroom #2 is smaller, but has a great view. There is a queen sized bed ,cathedral ceilings and a skylight, as well as AC. The bay window captures the best bedroom views in the houseand includes a window seat. Well furnished, dresser, small closet and a very firm, good quality mattress.

Bedroom #3 is the smallest bedroom, but is perched on the highest level of the house. I call it the master bedroom because is has it's own deck with majestic views of the marsh, bay and beyond. There is a queen sized bed with new Laura Ashley pillow top mattress (soft) and a large closet, as well as it's own bath (completely done over). It has its own staircase and privacy.

The kitchen boasts new cabinets, its own breakfast bar and a wonderful breakfast nook overlooking the view. It’s accented by a beautiful white Villory and Boch porcelain sink. Appliances include dishwasher, electric range, cabinet style refrigerator and built-in microwave.

The main bath on the mezzanine level has a tub/shower, sink and toilet accented with a glass vessel sink.

The living room has a floor to ceiling stone fireplace that rises 16' and is the focal point of the interior. The living area has new leather furniture and a new 42' HDTVwith Blu-ray DVD and PS3. There is a sound system in the main room.

Experienced Cape Cod travelers know this area as Gray's Beach. We are north of Route 6A and are located just 18 minutes over the Sagamore Bridge. The boat ramp is 2 minutes walking distance and Gray's Beach is the same. The beach is very safe for young children, shallow water and no rip tides. There is a play area for children with swings and there are walking trails everywhere.

It's a place to find yourself again and let the natural flow of life wash the stresses of modern day living away. You'll know the minute that you get here, you can feel it. Even though this property is close to civilization, there is a remote feel about it. The yard is nice and clean, but very natural, spacious and welcoming. It's an extremely private setting.

I'm also the builder and manager of this property. You can enter Maritime Properties Cape Cod in your search engine to speak to me directly either by phone or email. Thanks for considering my home for your Cape Cod vacation.

I've been in real estate and building for the last 30 years and we've done quite a bit to enhance this beautiful property. New furniture and art are changed and added every year to create a wonderful vacation environment. Staff is always close by to help with any concerns.

There is a quiet solitude here that is both pleasant and relaxing. We are one of three structures that are surrounded by 300 acres of conservation land. It kind of feels like you are on the edge of the world, looking out over an expansive view with no end. It is a place you should visit at least once.

The structure has architectural features in a very interesting multilevel floor plan, the privacy of a conservation area and the awe inspiring feeling of nature in one property. All of the interior colors were tested and designed to capture the light changes here as the day moves on. It is north of Route 6A, very desirable, close to: whale watches, charter boat fishing, ferries to Nantucket, antique shoppes, The Cape Cod Playhouse, clam shacks, art studios, glass blowing....and grocery shopping is just 10 minutes away, a luxury on Cape Cod. We are located in the charming village of Yarmouth Port, home to many historic buildings (tours available) and to the famous Inaho restaurant. There are five golf courses within 20 minutes. Guests can rent a kayak and have it put in the water at Gray's Beach, a three minute walk. There are miles of estuaries for paddling. Gray's Beach park has 2 pavilions, bathrooms, a playground for kids and a field for whiffle ball. There are about 5 miles of walking trails right out the back door of your home that wind over bridges with views of the marsh and the bay. Boats can be put in a Gray's Beach landing and guests can motor to private places with sand and water. It's quite the spot.

Many rental homes on Cape Cod have just the basics. This house has many upgrades. The deck furniture is teak, the HDTV is the latest model with Yamaha home theater surround sound, we have a library of music and movies. There is also a Playstation 3 for the best blue ray movies and gaming experience.

The living room furniture is well kept leather and custom finished cherry. The fireplace is handcrafted stone and the interior railings are mahogany with stainless steel accents. The three beds are all very comfortable, high quality mattresses, no old lumpy beds. All of the flooring is new.

We have prepared a Cape Cod guide book that will help you locate the best activities, restaurants, sandwich shops and more and will help you more fully enjoy your time here.

Very special place

  • 5 out of 5
The house is nice. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed. But what makes this rental so spectacular are the views and the wild life surrounding the place. We watched from the breakfast nook one morning as 2 fawns played in the yard just outside the window, until Momma Doe came along and munched grass with them for a few minutes and then all 3 disappeared in the trees. They returned several more times during our stay. The sunsets were amazing! In fact, we made a point of being back to the house every evening just so we wouldn't miss one. We also loved Yarmouth Port and the location of this house was very convenient to explore the Cape. This place is truly special and we hope to return someday. Also, Rick could not have been more helpful during our stay. He was very accommodating if we needed anything and seemed invested in our trip being special.

Rental with a View

  • 3 out of 5
There are Pros and Cons about this house. So here is my list:
Cons:
1. Listing says it is suitable for elderly and infirm. However, there are steep,
narrow steps to enter the main floor from the lower entrance.
2. Narrow steps up to the 3rd. floor bedroom & bath.
3. House needs a good cleaning/ dust bunnies and spider webs all over
4. Ants are a problem in all rooms at certain times.
5. Bedroom with bay windows could use another shade so you don't wake with
the sun.
6. Breakfast room needs brighter light so you can see your food at night.
7. Kitchen needs a small saucepan and ice trays (no ice-maker)

Pros;
1. Beautiful views
2. Wildlife viewing
3. Sunsets are great
4. Walking distance to Grays Beach & Boardwalk. Also children's playground.
5. King bed is comfortable and the Living room
6. Owner is nice to work with
7. Great location

So, if stairs are not a problem for you, this could be a great house with just a few simple corrections.

Owner's Response: I am very disappointed with this review for a number of reasons. I would like to address each concern individually. This is multi level house with a lot of stairs, however, all of the stairs meet or exceed local building regulations. We have good handrails and no carpeted stair treads. The stairs leading from the lower level to the main level are 36" wide, the treads are 10 wide and the rise is 7" per step. Maybe six or seven treads, very normal. The steps to the third bedroom are 32" wide.

In the rental agreement there is a very clear paragraph about cleaning. If the guest has any problem at all about cleaning, we are to be contacted immediately and we will re-clean at their convenience. I was never contacted about cleanliness or about the ant problem. We did, however, become aware of the ants with a subsequent guest, and responded very quickly to resolve the problem.

On the instruction sheet for the house, it is stated in bold letters that if there is anything at all that is needed, please call me right away and I will provide you with whatever it is that you need. I never received a call about anything. That's the frustrating part for me, how was I to know?

They were very good guests, they left the house in good shape and it's disappointing to find out that they didn't enjoy their stay.

Comfortable house in a beautiful location

  • 4 out of 5
Stayed here with my family of 4 and my sister's family of 3, and we all had plenty of room. We also hosted a dinner party with about 10 more members of our extended family coming over, and there was enough space for everyone to spend time visiting and even enough spots to sit and eat. The view is gorgeous, the kids loved having a yard to run around in as well as easy access to the boardwalk at the nearby beach, and it was easy to find.

Wonderful

  • 5 out of 5
This was a wonderful place to stay, so peaceful. We wished we had booked it for more than the 2 nights. My husband wanted a place he could step out the door to the beach, though this wasn't it he loved it even more than the place we rented that you could step out on the beach. Great location and a small beach near by. Loved sitting out on the deck for morning breakfast and coffee. The weather unfortunately did not cooperated for us to catch the sunset. The owner was great to work with.

This property is a complete treasure!

  • 5 out of 5
We were visiting Cape Cod in October and this was the perfect home away from home. Peaceful & beautiful views from the many windows and the architectural design & decorating were so beautiful; honestly added to the natural beauty of the outdoor views. Rick was very accommodating & the house is very close to everything any visitor would need. This was THE BEST vacation spot we have ever visited & we would certainly stay here again. A Cape Cod paradise!

Relaxing and Peaceful

  • 5 out of 5
We had a great stay at this wonderful house. With a 7-month old baby with us I knew we would not be super busy with activities outside the home, so I wanted to be sure to rent a place that felt like it was THE destination. And that's how it felt like...no reason to leave, just hang out and relax. I certainly was never bored with the view. When the baby was napping I could just enjoy the view of the bay or read a book on the deck. It was picturesque and serene, yet close to the grocery store and other amenities. It's a comfortable and stylish house in a perfect location.

The property is about 100 yards from the Town managed Beach area and boat launch. It's easy to put in a small boat, kayak or canoe. Large power boats are not able to use the launch, the water depth is too shallow. There are estuaries that go for miles and there is access to private beach areas. In addition, there is a large parking area and picnic tables and benches available, restrooms and a playground for small children. There are miles of walking trails in and around the salt marsh.

Travelling north and south on route 6A, you feel taken back in time to turn of the century captain's homes, large structures with wrap around porches and detailed gable trim. Art, books, antiques or fried clams, it's all available on 6A.

We are also just 15 minutes from Hyannis Harbor and the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard and the newly renovated airport is also just 15 minutes away. Day trips to Chatham or Provincetown are between 30 and one hour one way.

Plus we are just 20 minutes to the Sagamore Bridge, very helpful in the summertime.
