Devan purchased this apartment in 1998
I bought this home when I came to Los Angeles to attend USC while my partner attended UCLA. The home was in between the two provided us the space and the comfort and the elegance that we sought. Plus, the huge yard was an added benefit.

We stayed in this lovely place 3 years ago June 2012 when my daughter decided to transfer to UCLA in Sept same year. We were first time in LA that time and enjoyed the trip. Big house and nice decor exactly the same as photos. Clean towels and full equipped kitchen . We cooked all the time at home and enjoyed it very much. I didn't write a review until now coz I am looking for renting again this June. My daughter is graduating...
My husband and I spent 3 incredible months at Devon's property. The description was accurate along with the photos. However we were amazed at the decor and energetic feeling immediately on arrival. The furniture is comfortable and laid out perfectly. Views are lovely looking out onto the street from the living room. A wonderful place to have your morning cup of coffee or evening toddy.
The garden view from the bedroom was a bountiful vision of flowers and well loved plantings that are thriving. Sitting out on the patio was truly an Oasis in the heart of LA. Wonderful to have access to a garage and ample off street parking as well. Plenty of room to entertain and a marvelous dining room for an intimate or larger gathering. Kitchen is well equipped and full of that California sunshine that we are missing in Central NY. As there were only the two of us I would wash the dishes by hand. Standing at the kitchen sink Hummingbirds were always busy collecting nectar. There is a dishwasher available and works well for larger groups. Off the kitchen is a laundry room with state of the art appliances. I am missing them almost as much as the sunshine. The master bedroom has a comfy king size bed. Black out shades and silk curtains to line your nest.
Ample space for two in the attached bathroom. Hummingbirds outside that window as well. Lots of closet space in both bedrooms to hang clothes. An office that was used daily and well appreciated.
Great stereo equipment with speakers, in the ceiling, throughout the apartment.
A grand front entrance and convenient back one to access the garage. As you may have gathered we enjoyed our stay here immensely. Devon was only a text or phone call away. Always went out of his way to answer any questions or concerns. If he wasn't available the property manager was close by in the neighborhood. Beautiful and safe area to walk. Close to the Beverly Center and all the fabulous restaurants on Third Ave. one of our favorites was Joan's on Third. Walking distance or a short drive there, depending on your personal preference.
Many museums to visit. Beautiful places to hike with a short or longer drive to trail heads. Griffith Park is incredible and the Observatory is a definite must. So many things to see and experience...so little time...better book this place right away for your dream stay in wonderful Los Angeles! We thank you Devon for the best winter ever. we generally enjoyed the house. You need a car to go everywhere, but that is LA. As Sarah must have told you the outside light did not work which was a bit dangerous at night and the right hand side light in the master bedroom also did not work after I changed the bulb. Air conditioning was a bit mysterious. Look forward to renting it again.
We stayed for a week in Devan's elegant and well- furnished apartment set in a nice neighborhood only a couple of miles away from LA's many attractions. On arrival we received a warm and helpful welcome. To achieve a five star rating we would suggest investing in some new pillows and duvets. Recommendations on local restaurants and supermarkets would be helpful, Overall we have no hesitation in recommending this property.
This is a beautiful house, with lovely garden, classic furnishings, elegant linens and a fully equipped kitchen. We entertained local friends as if we lived in Los Angeles, and could easily get quickly to various parts of town from this highly desirable central location on the edge of Beverly Hills. The owner was a most gracious and helpful host, offering tips on local restaurants and attractions, and welcoming us in a personal but not intrusive way. We could not recommend this house strongly enough to couples or small families looking for a great getaway spot in the heart of Los Angeles. Great dining room, ample dishes and glassware and a tinkling fountain in the backyard to lull you to sleep at night. Five stars!~
We were fortunate to be able to stay a week in Devan's beautiful home. It is the perfect location and he is the perfect host! It is very central and as I am a jogger I also felt extremely safe and comfortable jogging in the area. The layout is fantastic and the backyard so lovely to sit and relax. The ample parking is also a great asset. Everything is as described and we can certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable and beautiful home to stay while in L.A. Thank you Devan, we look forward to coming back!!
