Apartment with Stupendous Ocean Views
Review Submitted: 07 August 2010

It was almost inevitable that we had a very good, relaxing week in this apartment on La Gomera, which is part of the relatively new Urb. Pueblo Don Thomas!
This is one of only few of the apartments (in about 100) where one really enjoys a stupendous view of the ocean while sitting on the terrace, in the garden or in the living-room. The view is laced with the islands' characteristic palm trees, and, when the sky is clear, the vulcano top of El Teide on Tenerife. At night, the lights if Tenerife and the moon offer a really special atmosphere while sitting on the well-furnished veranda. A very quiet and spot to relax, read or chat - except for the half hour every weekday when the gardeners that maintain the complex's beautiful gardens are busy with their noisy blowers, anyway :-).
We also liked the wildlife around the place - the gardens are home to many small lizards, one of which was catched by a falcon in our garden!
The apartment is well-furnished, well-equipped, and equally important, breathes a very nice atmosphere through its careful interior design and decoration. The apartments was spotlessly clean, fully stacked with bathroom and swimming towels, and extensive DVD-collection and some books.
Adding to hour holiday pleasure was the very very amiable (semi-private) swimming-pool, which appears to be shared by only few apartments, none of which were occupied at the time of our stay!
The owner is very reliable, helpful and standby on mobile phone; directions to the apartment are clear; arrangement of car hire through a local rental company are very convenient, affordable and reliable.
The nearby Playa del Santiago offers a number of agreeable restaurants - checkout Don Tomate and El Junio - a bank, post office, well-stacked supermarkets, and is one of the stops of the Benjchi Ferry - Fred Olsen is the usual way to arrive to the spot. It also featured a guarded swimming beach.
