Fabulous home/ranch "out in it"
Fabulous home/ranch "out in it"
If you'd rather be on open land with amazing views of the distant mountians this is the place. Comfortable, gorgeous, beautifully maintained and updated builder's home minutes from Wickenburg yet on natural desert acerage with astounding views. Decent size hot tub. Breakfast on the covered patio watching the birds visit the Saguaros 20 feet away, and cooking steaks on the open Mesquite grill are daily highlights. Can walk down to say hello to the owner's horses and dog if they're in town. Wickenburg has a decidedly western feel and is full of friendly, helpful local folks who can't do enough for you, we found it to be a nice relaxing change from the Phoenix/Scottsdale suburban crush. Restaurants in town are adequate but not high end. This is more about the fun things to do nearby like horseback riding and ATV's. We came here to explore the desert and mountains on ATV's and there are many amazing trails nearby, can even leave right from the front door, and many of these trails are also suitable for a car or SUV to explore, at least to a point. Old abandoned gold mines, newly re-opened gold mines, and old ghost towns are out there to be found, along with beautiful mountain canyons and streams. There is also a wonderful ATV rental/guide service for all levels of riders very nearby, Steve with ATVwickenburg guided us one day and is a great guy. We didn't play golf this trip so can't comment on that. Easy drive about an hour to Carefree or Scottsdale if you want, also not too far from Lake Pleasant maybe can rent a boat. Appears to be a good starting spot for day trips to Prescott or Sedona, etc. Owners are extremely helpful. All around total class.
