POISED ABOVE THE MEDITERRANEAN, OUR NICE VACATION RENTAL IS A TRUE TREASURE

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Nice - Le Trésor de Nice

1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom [WC], sleeps 4 max.

You’ll fall head over heels for Nice! The city boasts sparkling beaches, sunlit streets, ocean breezes, and a temperate climate year round. Unfortunately, the vacation rentals here tend to lack the elegance and whimsy of the rest of the town. We know—we stayed in several before buying our own penthouse apartment, Le Tresor de Nice.

Our experience with the accommodations in Nice spurred us to create a vacation rental experience that consistently surpasses our guests’ expectations. We spent months renovating Le Tresor de Nice before opening it to be shared with others, and it features all the personal touches you would expect from a treasured family home.

Two terraces and several large windows showcase the shimmering Mediterranean, the sun-washed architecture of Nice, and the gentle slope of the mountains. One terrace includes a four-seat dining table and lounge chairs for sipping wine under the moon, while the stars and city lights merge into one glittering panorama.

Marble floors pave the way into Le Tresor de Nice, which is reached by elevator and laid out into an open floor plan with a large living room, one bedroom, and one and a half baths.

A brand new, fully stocked kitchen with fittings and furnishings from Italy, stainless steel appliances, and granite counters is the perfect setting for preparing gourmet meals in the country that invented gourmet. A small supermarket for gathering fresh ingredients is located just down the way, along with a boulangerie, where you can induldge in a fresh croissant or buy a loaf of bread for later.

When its time to present your enchanting meal, a glass-top dining table, lit by an elegant chandelier, has room for six. You can also light a few candles and dine on the terrace in the balmy Mediterranean air.

The kitchen also has breakfast bar—an ideal place to settle in with an espresso from our Nespresso machine and catch up on emails (freeWi-Fi is provided). Or, if you’d rather work with a view, Le Tresor de Nice provides an office area in front of a large window overlooking the bay, which bustles with ships, boats, paragliders and planes descending to the nearby airport. This dreamlike view will be the only impediment to your productivity: a printer, scanner, and plenty of desk space for your laptop are included.

Luxury linens enfold a queen-sized bed in the bedroom—a wonderful place to rest after a full day of exploring. A second terrace with bay views is accessed from the bedroom. Here, for a romantic moment, you’ll find two chairs and a table with just enough space to rest a pair of wine glasses.

The bathroom includes a rainfall showerhead, vanity mirror, and spacious marble countertops for all of your cosmetics and beauty products. A half-bath with sink and WC is located just off the foyer. There’s also a sofa that converts to a bed in the living area, which will accommodate two extra guests.

The beach is a ten-minute walk from Le Tresor de Nice (15 to 20 minutes on the way back) or a five minute bus ride. We recommend some form of vehicle transportation so you can motor along the coast or into the mountains. A vehicle will also make it easier to reach the plethora of cafes and restaurants in Nice’s city square or Old Town. An electric car rental service—8€/hour with a one hour minimum—can be found just downstairs.

Prefer not to drive? There are several options for public transportation. Take the convenient bus service to Gare de Nice Ville, where you can take a train along the scenic coastline to Marseille or Italy.

Another perk—two of our friends in the building, French-Canadians who speak both English and French, are available to meet and greet guests, answer questions and assist in emergencies

It’s always a great time to visit, and our luxury vacation rental ensures your stay in Nice will be twice as nice. Get in touch today to book your getaway!

About Ralph & Karen Moorhouse

We are committed francophiles and after spending many years getting to know Paris, renovating an apartment there [224052] we started coming to the Côte d'Azure, looked for an apartment & knew that this was it when we walked into the living room and saw the view. Another renovation followed to a higher standard than the typical Nice offering - its a place we would live in full time....maybe some day!!

Ralph & Karen Moorhouse purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Ralph & Karen Moorhouse chose Nice

The view! Sitting on the balcony with a cool glass of Rosé enjoying the view, the sun and cooling breeze is magic. This is the enduring feedback we get from guests and why we spend more time here than in Paris [ID 224052]

What makes this apartment unique

We have 2 wonderful on-site staff, who have become good friends, to welcome you and help you settle in. A convenient bus will take you to the SNCF station, for travel along the coast, or hop off en-route to pick up another bus into the center of the town. Local supermarket & bakery will supply you basic needs to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner on the balcony.

Apartment in Nice

  • 5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the apartment. When we first arrived we thought it was too small but after a couple of days it was just the right size. The view is fantastic. A couple of nights we cooked dinner ate on the balcony, enjoyed the view and each other. I would highly recommend this apartment to any couple going to Nice.

The owners have a couple that looks after their apartment for them. The couple lives in the same complex. Jean met us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. I asked him if he was free one day if he would show us some famous sites and I would pay him for it. He couldn't have been more accommodating. We had a wonderful tour with him.

Owner's Response: John & Lois: Thanks for your kind review. One of our favorite things when we visit Nice is lunch or dinner on the balcony - glad you were able to enjoy this.
Interesting that you mentioned the size of the apartment. Compared to . N. American homes this may at 1st seem small but the reality is very spacious and comfortable even for a prolonged stay of several months.
Jean & Marlene are gems and we are very lucky to have them looking after our place. Jean doesn't usually do guided tours, but was very generous with his day to take you around - he said it was fun! Come back to Nice or Paris [#224052]

Beautiful, relaxing Riviera Penthouse

  • 5 out of 5
We had a great time staying in your apartment. I can't really think of anything the apartment itself was missing. The 'user guide' was extremely helpful. We took the bus route you listed to Eze, the train to Cannes and Antibes, and a boat to Monaco. The boat left from Le Port and was a great way to spend a day.

I wish it were closer to downtown and not on a hill, but that did not impact the great week we had. We learned that a taxi from Hotel Negrescu to the condo was 20 Euro and that was perfect.

Owner's Response: Maureen: thank you for your kind comments. We are very luck to have Marlène & Jean help with our apartment - they are right there [same block] when you need help or advice. They are a great resource for guests and have become good friends. Hope you can come back to Nice or perhaps out place in Paris.

Gorgeous apartment overlooking the Mediterranean

  • 5 out of 5
Ralph & Karen: We had a wonderful stay in Nice and your apartment was everything your description said it would be. The views of the Mediterranean were breath-taking. My friend had never rented an apartment before and, after this experience, she said this is the way she would travel in the future.

Thank you so much for the free calls to the USA. As it turned out, my mother was taken to the hospital the day after I left New York. (She is still in the hospital) So, having the phone was truly a gift as neither of us had a phone that would make international calls. I was able to call my husband every night to check up on Mom at no cost.

Your assistant, Jean, greeted us upon arrival and walked us through the entire apartment. He was very gracious and patient as he explained how everything worked. The binders which you compiled were very explicit. It made using the appliances easy. The grocery store and the bakery were conveniently located at the bottom of the hill.

Also all the info you left concerning day trips and bus schedules was very welcomed. And the bus was also at the bottom of the hill across from the grocery store! I pointed out to Jean that the #12 bus does not run after 8:30 PM and that is something that you should point out to your guests. We found out the hard way that there are night buses and we had a long walk from the Promenade des Anglais to the apartment at night. We were unfamiliar with the streets and chose the correct one by sheer luck-- it was a safe but a long, steep walk! Also, it is worth noting that May 1st is Labor Day in France and the buses don't run and the grocery stores in the vicinity aren't open.

We took a day trip by bus to Eze, which took about 1 1/2 hrs by bus. The bus drives along the winding Mediterranean coast and the village of Eze is a must. On another day, we took the train from Nice to Monaco (25 min) and then on to Ventimiglia , Italy (20 minutes). I would highly recommend Eze and Monaco. Ventimiglia was only for the markets, but it was fun to see them.

Your on-site assistant, Jean, was always very helpful. He encouraged us to call him with any questions. He is such a delightful man.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. Perhaps one day we will return. I will certainly recommend your apartments to both friends and family

Owner's Response: Gloria; Thanks for your kind and wonderful review. Glad you enjoyed your stay and took some good trips. We try to make the vacation experience, comfortable and memorable. Jean & Marlene our on location assistants are invaluable for advice and super friendly, as you discovered. . Thank you also for pointing out the apparent lack of information about the night bus. The information was in our "User Guide" but not prominently. We have now put detailed instructions close to the front of the "Guide" that include how to avoid the walk up the hill - the bus actually comes along the road by the apartment - and we will be sure to point this out to guests when they arrive. As an added feature, we have now arranged access to about 20 English TV channels for those times when guests require a BBC/ITV fix ;-).
Thanks again and we hope to see you again in Nice or Paris

Beautiful view in Nice!

  • 5 out of 5
A great find in Nice. The apartment is beautiful, the views are amazing and it is tastefully decorated. We were met by Marlene who was very helpful and provided us with a map and helpful information.

We travelled to Eze, Monaco and Cannes, we found it easier to take a bus to the city center and drive to other cities. The apartment comes with parking so this was not a problem.

Thanks again for the outstanding stay in Nice. We are looking forward to coming back.

Owner's Response: Jerry: thanks for your kind comments. Having Marlene & Jean [our local helpers] in the same building is invaluable - they are very good! While a car is good to get to some of more distant sites, We use the excellent bus service and trip planner offered by Lignes d'Azur [saves problem of finding parking in towns]. With this resource you can coordinate connections with buses & trains - trips are 1.50 euro each way [with transfers allowed with 74 mins - train is extra] - a 10 trip ticket [available from local tabac] is 10 euro. We look forward to seeing you again. Thanks

Extraordinary!!!!!!

  • 5 out of 5
It was our first time to the french riviera. Nice is a beautiful city with so much to offer. Especially for those who are beach snobs like me :) The trip over was long, but well worth it. The condo was very comfortable, nicely decorated, full of amenities, very clean and we felt at home. We were elated to have a greeter upon arrival. We were provided the keys, they gave us a mini tour of the place and recommendations that were so helpful. The condo has a magnificent view of the Mediterranean. We sat on the balcony every morning and had coffee/breakfast. The bed was so comfortable. The bus runs down to the beach, 5 minutes away. The transportation was amazing!!! You can use the bus and train systems everywhere. We took several train trips to surrounding areas. I took my mom and partner and we all said we'd be back. Hotels are outrageously expensive. This was the way to go. We followed the books and information the owners provided. The restaurants, cafe's,activities, and mini trips were right on key. You don't need to bring anything information with you. Bring your sunscreen, a good book to read and a good appetite. The food was great, but the pastries were divine. Don't forget your camera. You will be taking a lot of pictures. The only complaint I have is we should of stayed longer, for warmer weather. You can't expect everything to be perfect. lol. Thank you for such a "Nice" stay. You certainly won't be disappointed.
