If you are visiting Burgundy for all it has to offer, why not stay in the center of it all? 3 Clos de Pommard is located on the wine route, the 'Route des Grands Crus'. Walk out the front door and you are only steps from Pommard's 50+ vintners. Walk out the back and visit the famous Chateau de Pommard. Set off on walking paths through the vineyards for visits to Volnay and Meursault. The historic town of Beaune, with it's rich cultural life, restaurants, and vibrant Saturday market, is a 5 minute drive north. Location, location, location!

Pommard is a bustling wine village situated just on the outskirts of the medieval town of Beaune, the heart of the Cote d'Or. Our modern ground floor townhouse apartment is located in a beautifully renovated 17th century carriage inn.

Burgundy & local attractions: But do not think that Burgundy is reserved solely for wine connoisseurs and lovers of art and architecture. Visitors have a choice of activities as varied as the region's landscapes. With so much to see and do in this year-round destination, one stay is never enough! The so called 'Land of Art and Good Living', Burgundy offers you prestigious vineyards and wines, historical cities, famous sites (many World Heritage), golf and an interesting walking and cycling network, all within a well preserved natural setting.

You will find maps, tourist information and inspiration in our apartment, and the tourist office in Beaune can provide all the information you need to make your stay at 3 Clos de Pommard a truly memorable one. Our property management team will be pleased to assist you with web links and further information about the region.

Local attractions: The medieval town of Beaune, once the home of the Dukes of Burgundy, offers some of the regions most appreciated historic attractions, including the Hospice de Beaune, Europe's first charity hospital built in 1443. Excellent restaurants abound. The Saturday morning market in Beaune is not to be missed. For those enjoying outdoor activities, the region offers wonderful hiking and biking trails, some that run right through our village of Pommard.

Our property offers two quiet, comfortable bedrooms, both with queen size beds, one full bathroom, and a half bath that provides a second toilet and sink. Our kitchen is fully stocked with cookware fit for a chef. Internet, telephone and television with English and French stations are, of course, provided, with WiFi Internet and a fixed computer available if you cannot bring your own device. We provide free international telephone calls to landlines in Europe and North America.

About Carolyn and Ken Thompson

Imagine two young, aspiring musicians, growing up 25 miles from one another in the USA. One summer they are each sent to perform in the great concert halls and cathedrals of Europe. They meet and speak to one another for the first time on the steps of Notre Dame de Paris –– the beginnings of a life-long love story, with each other, with a way of life, and with France! Since 2005 we have owned this, our lovely second home, in the Burgundian wine village of Pommard. Each year has brought an ever-increasing respect for and connection to the people and culture of this remarkable place, the most celebrated and complex wine region on earth. In essence, our desire to make this property available for others to enjoy was born out of a desire to share our knowledge and love of Burgundy with those who seek something more than a generic travel experience.

What makes this apartment unique

Booking with us is unique in four ways:

First, with the rental of our property, we are pleased to offer one complementary hour of trip planning consultation from “Your Key to Burgundy,” (www.yourkeytoburgundy.com) our company that specializes in helping our clients to design personalized, authentic experiences in the Burgundy region of France.

Second, unlike many holiday rentals in Burgundy, we are fortunate to have property managers who live right in our village. Our unique American/French collaboration allows us to provide the highest quality of service for our guests.

Third, there are no “booking” fees or any other hidden charges for rental of our apartment. We do collect a security deposit which is fully refunded to you upon inspection of our apartment following your departure.

And finally, you are given the option to pay for your booking either in euros or in US dollars, thus allowing our American guests to save considerably by not having to pay any currency conversion fees.

3 Clos de Pommard

We just got back from our trip to France and spent a week in Burgundy and rented this wonderful apartment for one week in Pommard. The space is quite large and has a wonderful kitchen for cooking meals. The location is perfect, just a few miles from Beaune and right off the bike trails to get around on foot or bike to all of the wine villages. Carolyn, the owner was more than helpful and we enjoyed reading her binder loaded with restaurants, activities and historical sites to visit. Thanks again for making our trip so special!

Incredible location

3 Clos de Pommard

A fabulous home from home. The location could not have been more sublime. Right in the heart of the village with a front door opening onto the main street with the grocery store and bakery directly opposite.

Despite the proximity of the road the soundproofing and quadruple glazing kept out all traffic noise. The kitchen was superbly equipped and the furnishings in the main room and bedrooms were comfortable.

The off road parking was a boon.

The village is pretty central to the Cote D’or with the village of Volnay just a 5 minute drive away and Beaune 15 minutes in the other direction. Lots of great places to eat and visit within a 1 hour radius of the apartment.

The owners arranged flowers to be waiting for us on arrival as a gift to my mother in Law who was celebrating her birthday during the visit. There was also a welcome pack with a few essentials such as milk and biscuits plus a bottle of Cremant De Bourgogne! The kitchen came stocked with tea, coffee, oils, condiments, herbs and spices.

If you are a wine and or food lover this is the place to stay and you can burn off the calories by walking through the beautiful landscape.

Lovely apartment in an idyllic Burgundy village

Our family of three (two adults and a teenager) had a wonderful four day stay at this spacious, modern, well-stocked apartment in Pommard in August. The apartment was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen and main bathroom were well appointed. The only minor drawback is that it was very hot while we were there and while the good sized fans helped significantly, the apartment was warm at times.

We appreciated the lovely basket of local goodies upon our arrival. We also appreciated the detailed binder of information about the apartment, as well as Pommard and area.

The village of Pommard is idyllic. We loved having the bakery and small grocery store across the road, as well as the chocolat/sorbet shop down the block and numerous vintners throughout the village. We enjoyed Beaune and its Saturday market, as well as day trips exploring the beautiful surrounding area.

We would highly recommend this apartment.

Wonderful Holiday Home!

We stayed at this property for 6 nights. The property was located in a beautiful village very close to Beaune, which for us was ideal. We enjoyed the city of Beaune, but also enjoyed staying outside of the city.

The property itself was very clean and had all the amenities you could need. It was like staying at a friend's house rather than at a rented property. We have a 9 month old baby and they provided all necessary things (baby bed, high chair, food processor). We can't say enough wonderful things about this property!

The owners were very thoughtful and left details about the village and Beaune, including recommended restaurants, wine stores, etc. These tips were very helpful and just added to our great experience.

We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends!
