Casa del Moro, a farmhouse for your holiday in Tuscany

Self catering romantic dependence of an ancient Tuscan farmhouse for your holiday in Tuscany and Umbria. Semi Detached apartment, portion of the main house has its own garden area, and use of the shared swimming pool just a few hundred meters far. Perfect for 2/3 people is also suitable for 5 with use of the fold out bed or sofa beds in the living room for 2 extra peoples, with two full bathrooms.

The swimming pool is detached and about 500 m distance, shared with another house. We just restored the entire property so the garden will look young but still very large and nicely equipped with chairs, shades, and beach beds.

It has been restored with respect for the original stile and all teh furniture are antique, you will have a warm and relaxing feeling when you enter Il Moro Novo.

The house is located just outside a small country village, so it is not easy to reach and move from, still it is a quiet and relaxing place.

Cortona is just minutes away.

In the nearby city of Cortona , during spring and summer there are many event going.

same of the most famous are:

'Giostra dell'Archidado', a medieval a crosbow contest among the countrades of the city, held in June

Tuscan Sun Festival, classical music festival, with many international world famous artists and moovies star, held beginning of August.

Sagra della Bistecca, street feast where you can taste Chianina beef steak, held half of August.

International antichity fair, held in September.

Cortona, the famous art city is just minutes away. Very central, Cortona is near main roads and railroads so it is perfect for daily trips to many central Italy location. Other town to visit nearby are: Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Siena Arezzo, San Sepolcro, Anghiari, Perugia, Assisi, Trasimeno Lake, Orvieto, Florence. Cortona itselves is a beautiful medieval city, left intact as original. It is famous thanks to the book Under the Tuscan sun and during the summer there are numerous cultural and musical events like the Tuscan sun Festival in August,

With the local train is easy to go also to Florence and Rome in 1 hour and half.

Notes: The garden area is a portion of the farmhouse park, very young this summer but with plenty of private independent space, parking is 20 meters from the home entrance. Air conditioning is optional with additional charge. The swimming pool is shared and placed about 500 m far in another area of the farm. We can provide breakfast on request and it is possible to reserve special Tuscan dinner and cooking classes at our traditional Tuscan cooking school at walking distance. New for 2011: we set up an archery fiel next to the swimming pool, available arch and arrow rentals for adoult and young

Il Moro Novo is a beautiful property set in the stunning Tuscan countryside. If peace and relaxation is what you are looking for this is the property for you.Il Moro Novo contains all the facilities needed for a pleasurable stay. It has a spacious and well equipped kitchen/living room, large bedroom and two bathrooms. All of the above are clean and well maintained. You can be very much self-sufficent as a grocery shop is within walking distance to provide you with all necessary purchases both food and otherwise. There is also a family restaurant and cookery school down the road where you can experience the Tuscan way of cooking. This is run by Michele's family and is very much a beautiful place to spend some time. Michele, the owner of Il Moro Novo, is most accommodating and friendly always. He provided us with bicycles for hire and was always willing to answer any questions we had about our explorations of the Tuscan countryside. Michele, however, also gave us great space and freedom to enjoy the propery and its surroundings. We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends as Il Moro Novo is such a beautiful place to stay and relax away from the stresses and strains of everyday life. A place to wind down and really experience the Italian way of life.
