Casa Miguel - fully detached villa, private swimming pool

Just got back from a fantastic 5 days on this beautiful island. I have travelled to Menorca several times usually during the hot summer months of June-August but I chose this time of year for some total relaxation, peace and quiet and hopefully sunshine. It was all that I wished for and much much more! The villa is set in a fabulous location, ideal for visiting the many places on the island or for spending days in stunning Cala en Porter. Having stayed in many self-catering villas in the past - this has to be one of the best. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need - fridge freezer, oven/hob, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave as well as lots of little extras. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and maintained to a very high standard - 8 comfortable bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and spacious lounge/dining area. The sun shone gloriously with temperatures of 69-74 degrees, ideal for lazing by the large private pool or chilling on the patio. I would have been happy to lay there all week, soaking up the rays, sipping cold drinks (with slices of lemons picked from the tree at the back of the villa) but decided to try some of the many tranquil walks along coastal paths overlooking breath taking scenery. Amazing, especially followed by a lazy lunch at the end! At this time of year, there are only a handful of restaurants/bars open in Cala en Porter, but all offered great food and drink at very reasonable prices. This villa is ideal for parties of grown ups and children of all ages, whether your looking for a beach/poolside holiday in a picturesque location or want a base to explore this stunning island - you wont be disappointed. I will definitely be returning, having fallen in love with this idyllic place.

The weather was great for September and the flights were really cheap outside the school holiday period. The air-con was a God send in the evening even for late summer. We found the villa very clean and spacious, especially the front patio and pool area which is ideal for a relaxing evening in.

The island is beautiful and has a lot to see. We went on several walks around the coast on sign posted paths (which we ventured off on occasion). We hired a car and made the most of it by visiting a different beach every day and visited a couple of restaurants on the other side of the island. Although you could get away without a car and stay in Cala en Porter as the beach is just a few minutes walk away as are several shops and plenty of bars and restaurants.

Although Cala en Porter is a very family friendly the night life is far from boring. There are a few more lively bars as well as a great night club which is built into the cliffs. Each town has its own fiesta which are very exciting affairs as well as very welcoming of non residents.

Most of the beaches we visited all had good facilities and activities to do. At Cala Galdana (15 minutes drive away) we hired a canoe and paddled out of the bay to discover a 2 more less populated beaches as well as some great snorkelling spots.

A great holiday and a great villa, we intend to visit again next year.

fantastic clean spacious villa, spotlessly clean inside and out,beautiful large clean pool,plenty of sunbeds table and chairs for alfresco dining, crockery,cutlery,glasses,pans,microwave iron,dishwasher,we were very grateful for the aircon,I could go on and on, there was nothing more we could have wished for,sky sports for the men plenty of dvd,s for the kids,while the ladies were getting ready for the
evening,only ten minuet walk to lots of resturants bars and shops,local car hire if you wish to explore this most beautiful island,mahon harbour is a must,20mins on the local bus,the villa manager (carlos) was very friendly and helpful,we will definately return!!!
