Home from home, and ready for kids!

We stayed at this apartment in June 2009 for 2 weeks. One of the reasons we chose it was that we were assured it was great for children. With two small daughters in tow (aged 1 and 3), packing space was at a pemium, and the fact so much was provided was great - right down to childrens cutlery and booster seat for the table. Compared to travelling as lone adults, we needed the 'safety' of knowing what we were getting, and we weren't disappointed. The large balcony also offered a safe and secure playing area with shade. Having stayed in more traditional Greek apartments many times before, it was great to have the modern facilities, and space, that this apartment offered.
Views from the balcony were stunning, particularly at sunset, as it is high up above Batsi itself. The walk down the stepped footpath in to Batsi is picturesque, safe and quick, the only downside being the walk back up again! Anyone with buggies or small children be prepared to do some carrying, and it is definitely worth hiring a car.
Local facilities are excellent, including numerous cafes, bars and restaurants, all of which are child friendly. Khoala, (and Kostas, the owner) were firm favourites! The beaches are clean and safe, and we found the best pools were at Villa Rena, (which also has a small basic playground and is next door to the apartment) and Blue Bay Hotel. You need a car to get to this one but it has great views and made a nice change.
The apartment was spotless when we arrived, and the English key holders friendly, and very knowledgeable about the local facilities. They were easily contactable and gave the impression that nothing would be too much trouble.
Whether you are adults looking for a beautiful, spacious hideaway, or a family needing convenience and facilties, this suits all.

Owner's Response: Travellers to the Greek islands dream about the laid back rustic lifestyle offered but as with these guests, many enjoy having modern facilities and secure areas for their children. Being close to the beach, taverns and shops made it easy for this family but they also hired a car to travel further afield and explore other beaches etc.
