3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private pool, very comfortable/clean linen provided

Fantastic house in very sunny region created from ancient stone barn with lots of French character, vaulted beamed ceilings, French doors to terraces, very sunny secluded aspects, private 6 x 4 m pool. Surrounded by rolling countryside yet few minutes by car from all facilities in beautiful French market town with flower filled square with cafes , twice weekly market, supermarket lovely little shops & banks, open air swimming lido, river swimming close by and West coast beaches & resorts 1 hour. Fantastic places to visit, Cognac, Futurescope (huge amazing theme park) also water theme park and lots more including beautiful towns and villages to visit (tourist office in local town). The house is beautifully and very comfortably furnished with quality hotel style bathrooms and extremely well equipped kitchen.

Games, bikes, extensive video library, books, lots of space inside and out. Extremely clean & linen provided. Large log burner and heating make it ideal out of season also.

Travel: By road - easy access from all the ferry Ports in the North with regular services from the UK the shortest driving distance would probably be from Caen about five hours but the shortest crossing from England would be Dover to Calais which would take about eight hours to drive from. There is also a service from Rosyth in Scotland to Zebrugge in Belgium which is a 9 hour drive.

Flying - Three airports within easy reach

Poitier is closest about 50 minutes drive with regular low cost flights with Ryanair

Limoge is about 1 hour again with low cost flights

La Rochelle about 1 hour 20 min. again with low cost flights

try easy jet, Flybe and Ryanair

All these airports have excellent car hire facilities.

Travel directions to the house will be provided when booking, it is a very straight forward short 10/15 minute drive from the main N10 motorway exit

The area: Situated in a small hamlet and is set within beautiful rolling French countryside offering wonderful peace and tranquillity yet being only a few minutes by car from a beautiful local market town, Civray,on the banks of the river Charente and has a twice weekly typical French market as well as street cafes lovely little shops, patisseries, supermarkets and banks. This is a really beautiful little town with lots to offer including a wonderful open air swimming lido and a recent addition, an internet cafe. Also close is river swimming, canoeing, horse riding, fishing but there is also a fantastic little tourist office in the town.Around the house there are miles of quiet lanes you can go for endless walks and cycle and the River Charente is only few minutes walk also.There are two major theme parks for families only an hour away, future scope which is amazing and a fabulous water park based at lakes.

The fabulous west coast with it popular resorts and beaches is only 1hr. away.

The region: Known as the second sunniest region in France, after the Mediterranean, this is an unspoilt gem of a place, with a true taste of France and is home to the the fabulous Cognac area There is lots to see and do if you want to, the local people are absolutely charming, but you cannot fail to fall in love with this region with the fabulous French way of life and peaceful pace in which people here live. The terrain is soft and gentle with meandering rivers and endless fields of sunflowers in the summer.

Fabulous house!

Arrived to a warm welcome after a long journey. The house is lovely and spacious, well equipped and close enough to the town to get bread daily. Used the bikes provided to cycle into town once or twice. Surrounded by fields of sunflowers and sweet corn it is in a quite location, great if you want to escape from the usual routine, as we did.
The house is in an ideal location for touring the surrounding area. We had a day at Futuroscope, about an hours drive and a lovely afternoon in "Green Venice" taking a boat on the lovely canals, again about an hour away.
There is a superb market in nearby Civray selling fruit and veg and local produce and crafts every Tuesday and foodstuffs on a Friday. There are some good restaurants and cafes within easy driving distance.
My husband and I and our teenage children enjoyed the pool area, it was lovely to sit out under the terrace area both in the daytime and looking out at the stars in the evening.

Best family holiday ever

We stayed here for two weeks, myself, my husband and our three boys and we could not have picked a more wonderful place to spend our holiday!

The barn is absolutely beautiful and we felt so privileged to stay there. It is fully equipped and a complete home from home.

The pool is gated with a lock and the gardens are enclosed so we could completely relax and enjoy our holiday and the children had the freedom to play.

There is so much to see and do within a short distance but our boys were always desperate to get back to the pool and garden!

We couldn't recommend a holiday more!!

Wonderful venue for your well earned rest

You're never sure what to expect when you book a holiday on-line, but never fear, this wonderful holiday home has everything you need.

We had such a fabulous two weeks here in Savigne thanks to Denise and Robert, we will remember it for a long time to come.

The photos don't do the house justice and it's nicer and more comfortable than even the pictures make it look.

Lovely comfy sofas to sink into after a gruelling day around the pool!

Sorry no smoking in the house but there is a very comfortably furnished outside covered terrace Sorry no pet/animals. Our house is wheelchair accessible, double doors allowing easy access in and out of the house, the shower room has a built in tiled seat area and a grab bar in the shower. We would add our house is accessible for a wheelchair but may be unsuitable for guests with severe disabilities. (There are few steps to the pool area).
