Review from trip advisor
Today is the one year anniversary of our stay at Villa Albrizzi, in Este, Italy. Last year we rented the villa for a week for the wedding of our daughter. We had a party of around 20 people staying at the villa and another 30 coming over for the receptions. It was a very important moment and explicably, we were uneasy about hosting such a special event in a faraway, unknown place. However, it was a gorgeous sojourn in large part due to the beauty of the villa and the competence and kindness of its owner. All of our guests, most coming from the United States, were made right at home after their long journeys.
The villa is a large, charming old mansion located in the town of Este, around 10 km south of Vicenza, southwest of Padua. Entering through the gate of the villa is like stepping into another world: from the ancient Roman relics displayed around the main entrance, to the gorgeous park of the property, to the museum quality interior furniture. Albeit its historic character, this spectacular property has all the modern amenities, including a large swimming pool, tennis court, bicycles on site, A/C, Wi-Fi internet. It can comfortable sleep 16 people in the main building (which can be rented separately) and another 6 in an adjacent dwelling, called La Barchessa. An independent pavilion can be used for dinning and as a reception hall. There are also many other annexes spread around a gorgeous 8-10 acre park.
The whole property is very well kept, carefully integrating modern amenities into its historic site. The beautifully decorated bedrooms flow into various living and sitting rooms that allow for moments of privacy and small gatherings even within a larger group of people. The yards, the park, and the annexes, offer even more privacy and allow for various activities which make such a sojourn more enjoyable and relaxing. It would be too long to describe all we liked about this property. Suffice to say that, while we heard so many thrilled comments about this place, none of us could find anything to criticize about it.
The property is overseen by its owner, Alessandro Viscardi, who is a very pleasant gentleman, quite accommodating to different circumstances, and discreetly present on premises whenever needed. Although he does not live in Este, he was always available and helpful with useful suggestions, organizational decisions, and supervision of the staff. It is remarkable also that, for such a grand place, the price was quite affordable.
