About Owner

My mother was born on the Island and we have been visitors for many years. We still are finding things to do, there is so much in a compact place.

Having selected a short list of places to buy a property, we felt Shanklin has a lot to offer, with a good shopping centre, theatre, loads of restaurants and pubs not to mention a great beach.

Why Owner chose Shanklin

When we walked through the door the apartment just felt right. It was light and spacious inside with a great location, being close to a number of different walks. The beach is within 5 minutes walk as is the park and village centre. The town is about 10 minutes walk and the station a couple of minutes further.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment enjoys a peaceful location with a view from the balcony across Shanklin and Sandown bays, to Culver Down and on a clear day, to the mainland.

After having our family holiday for the past 9 years on the Isle of Wight, mostly in Shanklin and all self catering, this property was the best by far! As we knew the area so well, we chose The Reach for it's great location, walking distance to beach, shops, pubs etc.. We were greeted by the owner who showed us around, he even left us a nice bottle of wine, chocolates, fresh bread and milk, which was such a lovely start to the holiday. The 3 children loved their beds, all comfortably placed on the same room, with plenty of space for their belongings, they all have really comfy sleeps and were able to watch dvd's on bed, just like home from home! Our bed was comfy too, there was plenty of room for hanging clothes and separate bathroom. Wow the lounge and open plan kitchen diner was great, there were five of us with lots of room to relax on, everything was clean and well equipped. The balcony view was great looking over Sandown Bay, only very high up so our children were not able to go out unattended. I would highly recommend this property, it was great value for money. If we decide to come to Shanklin for the 10th year then this is where we will stay, nothing else comes close. Thanks for a lovely apartment.

Wonderful!!

We have visited the Isle Of Wight (especially Shanklin) and stayed each time in self catering accomodation for the past nine years for our yearly family holiday. We booked The Reach, as having been to Shanklin so many times before we knew what a good location this was. When we arrived we were greeted by David, who very kindly showed us around, he had left a lovely bottle of wine, chocolates, fresh bread and milk, this was so nice and certainly well appreciated! The appartment was the best (BY FAR) we had ever stayed in on the Isle Of Wight, it was clean, well equipped, spacious and my 3 children loved there beds all, of which were in the same room, they were really comfortable and they all slept brilliantly, they even managed to watch dvd's in bed, talk about home from home! There was lots of space for our clothes and everything was just perfect. The balcony had great views looking over Sandown Bay, although it was extremly high so my children were not allowed out there on their own. I would well recommend this property for anyone staying on the Isle of Wight and should we return next year (for the 10th time!) this is where we will stay.

Clean, well-stocked apartment in a great location

It was nice to arrive to a clean apartment. David was very helpful and accommodating before and after our visit. The apartment was very much as it appears in the pictures. It's a great location for walking into the town, to the park or to the beach.

Great place with everything we needed

We had a great stay in this lovely flat which is in walking distance of the beach and shops in Shanklin.
The flat had everything we needed – a choice of beds for our daughter, showers, bath, kitchen, nice open plan lounge and a balcony where we could see the sea!
David made us feel really welcome showing us around and even leaving nice bread, milk and a bottle of wine to make sure we weren’t without on our first night.
The flat was great base for us to see the island – we walked to Shanklin, cycled to Sandown, and drove to Ryde and on a trip around the island. We ate out in a couple of the nice pubs / restaurants nearby in Shanklin (a walk down the road), and we also had the option of buying food in one of the many Co-ops on the island and cooking ourselves for a couple of nights in enjoying the flat. Everything we needed was there so this worked really well with our young daughter.
Internet is excellent so were able to catch up on Neflix movies after our daughter got to sleep! So much better than being stuck in a hotel room when the young one sleeps on holiday!
I’d definitely recommend the flat – its facilities and location are excellent and David made us feel really welcome.
