Giorgia purchased this apartment in 2006
This was a great apartment for the 5 of us (two couples and one single). It is in a wonderful location, very quiet but close to everything, including a large grocery and some great restaurants. The stairs are a bit tiring after a day of walking around but, on the plus side, the views from the windows from that high up are wonderful! Watching the sunset over the old city skyline while the church bells rang all around us was worth the climb. Giorgia was incredibly helpful, meeting us at the water bus station, getting us reservations at a restaurant for our first night, providing tips on what to do and where to go and showing us around the apartment. After all the chaos of the Rialto bridge and San Marco square, it was so nice to come back to the apartment and the quiet neighborhood. We recommend just hanging out in the little square where the grocery is and wandering further back into the residential area to find some off the beaten path restaurants. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
This was the perfect Venice location for 2 couples, because it has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Quiet neighborhood, but close to everything, including a lovely square where the locals frequent. A very old building with a totally modern apartment. Steps from a small canal and 1-2 minutes from a store. It is on 3rd floor, so you have to be able to manage three flights of steps and a few more once in the apartment. It's a great place to hang out, looking out over the rooftops and hearing the church bells ring.
This apartment was perfect for the 6 of us. It was wonderful that the owner arranged for someone to meet us at the San Stea vaporetto stop because it is a little tricky to find. But we felt like locals when we would turn into our little 3 foot wide "street" and climb the stairs to the apartment. The location in Santa Croce makes it easy to go everywhere on foot. While the kitchen is small it had all the necessities for our stay and the bedrooms were very comfortable. It even has the Venetian clothesline that we used after washing in the convenient washing machine. It's the perfect place to experience a Venetian neighborhood.
We arrived by train in Venice and after a short water taxi ride navigated our way to the apartment meeting our host Giorgia onsite. The apartment is on the top floor and gives nice views of the surrounding area and allows for a nice breeze when the windows are opened. We were very pleased to find that the apartment matched the pictures and description exactly. This is a bright modern interior with all of the necessary space and items needed to make your stay in Venice very comfortable. The location is excellent for either walking to the Ste Stae waterbus stop or, as we did exploring Venice on foot. There are a number of decent restaurants, a grocery, fruit and vegetable vendor and café within 1 minutes walk. Giorgia was a great host offering various tips on where to eat and what to do. We also took advantage of her tour service www.haveaglassinvenice.com to visit some of the markets on Venice, neighbouring islands and a spectacular Bacari tour. We had a great time in Venice and would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful apartment.
The views from every window are delightful. You can even see the church bells moving as they ring. The apartment is comfortable, clean and well appointed. There's interesting art on the walls. The Wifi works and the air conditioning is good except it does not cool the bedroom off the living room which is a problem when it's hot. Be sure you understand that there are two flights of steps up to that apartment and one in the apartment. The location is excellent with the grocery store and good restaurants nearby.
Giorgia was a delight to work with in making the arrangements and during our visit. We enjoyed our Rialto market tour with her. She was very generous and arranged a water taxi to pick us up at the train station and met us there herself. She also booked a visit to a glass factory and water taxis to take us to the airport. Her help made our stay very pleasant.
Must start with the owner. Pleasant and very helpful. We felt like she was our guide there! Do not miss the tour to Murano with Giorgia!
The apartment is in a very nice inner part of Venice but close to everything. It is on the top of the building and has a good soundproof. Clean and bright! Nice beds and pleasant bathrooms. The kitchen is not too small for cooking but you have everything you need, nevertheless. We spend there 3 nights with our 10, 6 and 3 years old children and really enjoyed it!
