On a magical island with no cars

A 66 sq.m single-storey house on a quiet street in the historic village centre of Ile d’Aix.

For rent for 1 week or more (week-end only apart from school holiday), sleeps 6 (a master bedroom with double bed, a children's bedroom with 2 single beds, a double sofa-bed in the living room).

Shower room and separate toilet.

You will also use an independent fully fitted kitchen as you please (4 ring ceramic cooker, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, refrigerator/freezer, electric coffee maker, a Senseo pod coffee maker and a kettle, etc).

Bikes are available free of charge (3 adult bikes, 3 children's bikes), games for children and upon request, the necessary baby equipment (baby cot, high chair, etc.)

COMME À LA MAISON

L'impression de retrouver la maison dans laquelle la famille se réunit pour les vacances... On enfourche les vélos et on part à l'aventure avec le pique nique dans le sac à dos ou alors, on revient manger à la maison, la plage est si près!
Et quel plaisir de retrouver l'île après le dernier ferry, cette délicieuse et précieuse sensation d'insularité comme un privilège.

Owner's Response: "Notre" île est magique et tellement dépaysante : je comprends l'impression que vous décrivez et la partage complètement ! Et avec vos deux enfants de 5 et 7 ans, quelle sensation unique de liberté, et pour eux, quelle "grande cour de récré" ! la quasi-absence de voiture aide aussi beaucoup dans notre sérénité à les surveiller !
Je suis heureux que cela vous ai plu en 2013, et espère que votre prochain séjour en avril 2014 se passera de la même façon !

Une maison très agréable et bien équipée avec (ou sans) enfants. Pas une location ordinaire mais plutôt une maison de famille. Propriétaire efficace et aimable.
Tout proche de la plage et des commodités ! Je garde l'adresse en espérant y retourner cette année !

Owner's Response: Nous avons effectivement décoré et aménagé la maison, pour nous-même, avec le souci du confort, tant au niveau matériel qu'au niveau du "se sentir bien" ! Assez loin des locations formatées et standardisées que l'on peut parfois trouver.
Nous sommes heureux que nos locataires puissent y ressentir le même plaisir que nous à y séjourner !

For a unique holiday on a “no car” island, in a listed village, at the heart of the fortified village centre of Ile-d’Aix, designed by Vauban, where bike and children reign supreme and less than 200 m away from the sea! We offer you pleasant stay in our second home!

As an anecdote, Ile-d’Aix is historically the place where Napoleon wrote his letter of surrender to the English, on 13th July 1815 and the historical memories have marked the island that is composed of no less than 3 museums for less than 200 permanent inhabitants! (Napoleon museum, the Mother-of-pearl museum, the African museum).

The 66 sq.m single-storey house is on a quiet street in the heart of the historic village centre. Shops are less than 200 m away, the beach, under surveillance in summer, is also 200 m away and many activities are available on the island: nautical centre, tennis… You can also enjoy fishing on foot with oysters in abundance on the rocks, fishing and forest… According to the season, there are from 1 to 9 restaurants on the island, including several where great meals are worth a trip! 2 night bars (about 1 km away) are also open in summer, to relax after a few hours of relaxation or fishing.
