Our family stayed for our Easter break. The best feature of Danza del Sol is that it has 2 elevators. The nicest feature of the condo is central air conditioning, although it really wasn't necessary all the time. Each room has a ceiling fan. You are high enough up that you catch the beautiful breezes. The kitchen is fully applianced. No need to over pack because the washer and dryer are right in the unit. It has a full kitchen with all the dishes and cookware, etc. The grocery stores and restaurants are very close by. The condo is perfectly furnished for a family of 4 with an extra air mattress if necessary. All linens and towels are ready for you. Everything was clean and fresh. The amenities of the complex can't be beat. The gym, the pool and even beach access right out back are great. The building is very secure. The building is very easy to get to from every road. The sunset views are spectacular. The property manager could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Everything we asked for or needed, she took care of. We look forward to our visit next year!
We stayed at the apartment in Joyuda the months of February and March. The apt. was very spacious for the two of us and we did have company on two occasions during the 2 months. It was adequately equipped to suit our needs. Having a washer/driver made it very convenient to do laundry whenever we needed to. The building being secured added to our peace of mind while in Puerto Rico, although it was very quiet the entire time we were there. The apt. being situated facing the ocean added to this peace and quiet. Carretera 102 is a busy road so you must use caution when driving on this road. We like to walk and the area didn't allow for this, but we found that if we took a left at the gate into Mayaquez, there is this wonderful recreational area where one could walk along the beach. There are also a number of restaurants along this road. Monica was the "hostess with the mostest". She was very helpful and went out of her way to make our stay as stress free as possible. Loved her! Yes, I would recommend this property to friends and family. Visiting P.R. you must have an open mind and enjoy the culture and it's people and what Puerto Rico is all about. Loved, loved the people! There is a lot to do in this Cabo Rojo area. Our favorite beaches were Buye and Playa Sucia. We preferred going during the week when it was the quietest. Our favorite restaurants were Gonzalez, Tino's, Brasas in Cabo Rojo, Bohio, Annie's in Combate and of course the food trucks. If it's busy, the food is good! Everyone you speak to has a favorite restaurant. Ponce and Mayaquez are great cities to do the cultural things. Cabo Rojo is a wonderful little town. Try the "cafe con leche" at the Plaza and the bakeries are to die for. Living on the island allowed us to do a lot of sight seeing and we took advantage of this. We plan on returning next year.
The owner gave us good directions and met us at the Condo on a holiday. I liked her willingness to find a second set of keys for us. She needed access to the condo the next day for the utility company and she was very good about keeping us informed about the situation. The pool is hardly used by residents and is cleaned DAILY. We loved it. The parking spot is close to the door, making for easy hauling of luggage. It was nice and quiet as very little sound travels into the condo.
The condo looks pretty much like the picture with a few notable exceptions. First, the little tree with a few leafs blocking the view is now a HUGE tree that blocks almost half of the view of the water. Second, several of the potted palms in the pool photos have died. They are now just sticks in the dirt. Third, the refrigerator's door was filthy. It is covered in drips and splattered grease and food. Fourth, the toilets looked as if they too could benefit from a scrubbing. Fifth, the second pool? It might be a hot tub but it isn't hot and the jets don't work.
I had texted the owner about the fridge and toilets on our first night. She simply stated that she knew the condition of the appliances and that the toilets won't come clean because of hard water. I was so sad that the owner didn't offer any type of apology or offer to fix the problems.
When she texed three days later, wondering if we liked the place, I said it was fine. What I was thinking was, "I already told you about the problems and they went unaddressed."
I also asked the owner if there was soap available for the dish washing machine. She told me that it wouldn't be provided. I didn't even venture to ask about the laundry soap. I had just handed her lots of cash. I think the $2 of soap would have gone a long way in terms of goodwill.
Of the three condos I rented in PR, this was the only one without lawn chairs or a cooler.
The road to the condo is crazy-narrow. People drive fast. There is no sidewalk. My husband chose to run in the gym because the road was unsafe for pedestrian travel. I had also taken for granted that a west coast condo would have sunsets. They set too far to the south in the winter to be viewed from the balcony.
The deposit was paid by credit card but refunded by a mailed check. The first check was, "lost in the mail." The second one arrived 27 days after we returned home.
I can't decide if I'd stay here again.
