Locality: La Herradura (translated by the horseshoe) reflects perfectly the bay between the Cerro Gordo Peak and La Punta de la Mona. The village of La Herradura kept its Spanish character and contrary to other constructions in the uplands which are in Southern Spain, it succeed in being preserved despite tourism. You will find a selection of good restaurants and traditional Spanish bars. However, those who are seeking to enjoy night life will be disappointed! Nevertheless, the village has a few supermarkets, banks, newsagent, medical centre, a chemist, a hair dresser and a market where you will find fresh products every morning.
The Tropical Coast, where is La Aldea, has more than 320 days of sun and an average annual temperature of 17 ° C. African winds, hot waters of the Mediterranean sea and the mountains of the Sierra Nevada give a subtropical micro climate, unique in Europe. Furthermore, the beautiful maritime life makes the place a favoured base for practising scuba diving in Spain.
