Awesome location, comfortable space

Esteban was a friendly, helpful owner who was prompt with communications and very attentive. His customer service was beyond excellent! The condo space was large and in a fabulous location, near shops and restaurants and very close to the blue line metro station Foggy Bottom/GWU. The other good things: there was a nice, new sofa of microfiber and it was comfortable. The bed is kingsize and very comfortable. The water pressure in the unit was great and the showerhead itself good, but the pipe attaching it to the wall was loose and coming out of the wall. It looked like it might fall out! However, the glass doors on the shower were clearly new. The bathroom sink and vanity are in good shape. We loved having the portable computer and printer - it helped a few times! The TVs are great, but in a place this size, you really only need one and there are two big ones in the living room and another in the kitchen. ALso, the keyboard takes up valuable space- can't figure out why it's in a rental unit.
In our opinion, the property is dingy, dark and in need of updating. The bedspread on the kingsize bed must be twenty (or more) years old as it is brown velour with satin. The furniture is also old, dark, heavy, and pretty banged up. The walls are a dingy peach color, the windows dirty and the curtains in need of cleaning. In the bathroom, the crown molding is falling down and the wallpaper badly yellowed and peeling. There was no soapdish or shelf in the tub/shower for toiletries. Clearly one had been there but it was pulled out and a couple of metal brackets were in its place. The dining room chair cushions were yellowed and dirty.
Really there was no counterspace in the kitchen to prepare food and it didn't seem very clean or inviting. As for parking, we were grateful to have a spot but it is important to note that large cars will not fit - we were driving a car the size of a Camry and had a difficult time getting it in the parking spot. Once it was in, we didn't want to try to get out again.... The garage is underground and very cramped, so it is important to know that before you book.
Owner's Response: I strive to make sure all my guests enjoy their stay at my apartment. I must be doing a relatively good effort since this is the first time I have a guest that was not completely satisfied with the apartment. Thankfully I have 8 other recent reviews, which speak well of the accommodations, including the furniture and linens.
The apartment is not a corporate residence; those are usually costlier and have new or nearly new furniture. My apartment has two large TV’s, one to view from the bed and another to view from the dinner table. It has some games, a music keyboard, magazines, fully equipped kitchen, etc, none of which are found on your typical corporate apartment. I try to make my apartment a cozy, inviting, and enjoyable vacation home.
