A Special Place

Date of Stay: September 2012
My partner and I spent a memorable four days at the Ca'Albrizzi. This flat is an absolute gem! It is housed in a lovely historic Palazzo, within walking distance of all amenities including: coffee shops, a co-op grocery shop, restaurants, vaporetto stops, and shops. Upon entering the building we were enraptured by the fresco of mysterious origins gracing the stairwell leading to our charming flat. We were then awed by the decorative plaster detailing of the walls and ceiling of our "new home".
The flat was well-equipped with kitchen supplies, washing machine, shower with excellent water pressure, television, linens, and a plethora of books. It is definitely value for money, and would be even better value for a family of four (there were two single sleigh beds/couches in the living room). Our bed was SPACIOUS and extremely comfortable.
Giulio and his lovely wife live on site within the Palazzo. In the unlikely event that guests encounter any problems, they would therefore be able to contact them for direct assistance. During our stay, we were fortunate enough to meet a diverse array of artists, musicians, mothers, composers, and architects, local to the area. I cannot recommend this flat highly enough for travellers on a budget, who would like a taste of what it might be to live in Venice. One of my fondest memories is of preparing lunches in the morning whilst serenaded by the gondoliers passing below. We will definitely be returning!
