Carefully decorated and comfort for 8 adults (+ optional children's beds)

Winemakers' house of character of the 18th century (130 sq.m) fully renovated in 2011, located in the middle of an enclosed park of 8000 sq.m. The bright & modern decoration (facing south and west) includes 4 bedrooms (3 with a double bed of 160 and 1 with two 90 cm beds. Large living room with fireplace, sofa, and TV w/ DVD player. Table with 2 extensions. Fully equipped kitchen, 3 rings electric hobs, extractor hood, a large thermal oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge w/ freezer compartment & small electrical appliances. Regulated heating in all seasons. On each of the 2 levels, 1 separate wc and shower room with large shower. Veranda with deck chairs and garden furniture. Large standing charcoal BBQ. Outdoor games (ping pong, rackets, petanque balls). Private parking lot for 3 cars. Many activities available nearby, on foot in the countryside, by car in the nearby vineyard. Shops are 5 min away. Historic centre and TGV train station are 10 min away.

The house is located in Dijon, in a very quiet location, withdrawn from the road, close to: - the centre (10 mn by bus 13 which passes by the property), - and the countryside and a classified nature reserve which one can reach in just a few minutes walk. It is located at 330m altitude, to the north of the Cote des vins.

Outside the famous historic centre of Dijon which represents one of France's great preserved historic sectors, within a range of about an hour by car around the house, the prestigious heritage of ancient Bourgone displays its treasures: abbeys (Fontenay,

Citteaux,

Favigny, Cluny), Roman churches (Vézelay), castles, etc. The salt works at Arc and Senan are classified a Unesco heritage (like Fontenay), Bourgogne's vineyards (in the process of being classified by the Unesco) and from the Jura, the cities of Beaune, Autun, Auxerre, Avallon, Montbard, Dole, Arbois, Besancon.

5 min away by car, the Bourgogne channel which allows for long bike or boat trips, the Kir lac and beach in summer. Closeby, less than 20 min away, the possibility of playing tennis (outdoor and indoor court), golf course(2 x 18 holes), horse riding, swimming (olympic pool and diving boards), aerial sports (Darois aerodrome), mechanical devices (Prenois circuit), mountain biking in the valleys leaving from the house.

A complete uniform set of linen and beds made on arrival, contribution to cleaning fees, local taxes, are included at Euro 15 on average per person (including children) which is added to the rental amount.

The possibility of having the free delivery of fresh bread, catered dishes, all others on the shopping list. Free loan of books and films.

The rental cost is per week, from Saturday at about 4:00 p.m. to next Saturday at about 10:00 a.m. However, when it is possible, the rental can start and finish according to different times & days by mutual agreement.

The 50 % of the rental payment is made when booking (by cheque or bank transfer) and the balance is due upon hand over of the keys. We also ask for a damage deposit of Euro 500 on arrival to cover any damages. This sum is refunded on departure when inventory has been carried out. The owners live 30m away, in their own garden and can assist you at any moment if necessary.

My parents and I stayed 4 nights in this property, and we could have stayed forever! It was such an enchanting house, with the kind of charm we only dreamed of finding on our trip to Dijon. The weather was perfect, and we were able to enjoy dinner out on the patio dining table almost every night, as well as breakfast and coffee there each morning. The ambiance of the home, and the adjacent orchard, garden, vineyards, and yard was beyond our expectations. the photos do not do it justice.

The house itself is well-equipped. The kitchen has nearly everything you could need, including cookware and some basic spices. The closets were stocked with insecticides (for which we were thankful in the summer!), basic cleaning supplies to keep the kitchen nice, and a lovely fan that came in handy at night.

The beds are comfortable and the linens updated. The whole house was very clean and well-maintained, while retaining the perfect balance of updated features and the charm of another era. There were many books and interesting things in the home to give it charm and function, and Manfred provided many resources to help us in our travels, such as maps, books, and a booklet of local information.

We were only three people staying in this large house, and would have been comfortable with 6 or more people. Since we had a rental car, the home was very convenient to drive to the market (5 min) or into town (10-15 min), but felt remote and quiet, just as we wanted.

While the wifi did not work very well, we were able to connect periodically and check email, and it forced us to unplug and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings of the property. The laundry machine (combination wash/dry) was tricky to figure out, and takes quite a while to run, but was a lifesaver for our trip (and allowed us to pack lighter). Manfred was a perfect host, stopping by to offer tips periodically, and just a text message away for anything we needed. He is very friendly and kind, and was a great resource.

The best part of the trip was the cherries coming off one tree in the orchard! We were able to pick and enjoy them the whole trip! Such a lovely (and delicious) surprise!) I hope very much that I am able to return to Dijon and stay in this property again.

Highly Recommended Wine Country House

This is an interesting, large, and lovely property on the outskirts of the small city of Dijon. The four bedroom and two bathroom rental house is across a gravel courtyard from the owners’ house, both historic structures within a large walled and gated former farm. The property is ancient (pre-1789) and a quiet, picturesque gated oasis at the edge of urbanized Dijon.

The rental house itself is both charming and practical. The three upstairs bedrooms are bright and have attractive garden views and hardwood floors throughout. The upstairs bathroom and WC are separate, which is convenient, and the shower is large and functional (which is something noteworthy in France). The fourth bedroom, downstairs, is large and practical, and has a nice window to the pathway along the back of the house. The downstairs bathroom and WC are also separate and large. There are three gathering places in the large downstairs: the kitchen, which is bright and a convenient place to sit, eat, check emails, etc; the dining room, which has a large dining table surrounded by windows and books and is a lovely setting for a special family meal; and the living room, which has a comfortable sofa and lots of natural light. We were two persons for two weeks and four persons for one week, which was really nice, but the house would also be comfortable for larger groups.

Our stay with the Hubert’s in Dijon was a high quality, genuine French experience reminiscent of a past time before globalization and the spread of chain T-shirt stores, chain restaurants, and packaged bus tours. Located near the edge of the urban area, the property is a jumping off place for long, quiet walks in the adjacent undeveloped hills. We had a car, but found that catching the bus (right outside the gate) was a very convenient way to visit the Dijon city center, with frequent service to the heart of the city. Best of all, the property is well-located for multiple evening and day trips to all of the interesting wine country destinations immediately south of Dijon. A five, ten, or 30 minute drive would put us in a lovely wine village, at a charming and authentic small French restaurant, riding bikes along a picturesque canal or through acres of vineyards, or in a castle or church listening to a concert (recommended by Manfred). The owners have professional careers, speak English, willing to help and are savvy about the best places and events, many of which are not well advertised and not in guidebooks.

Une jolie surprise

Après plusieurs heures de route, une jolie surprise : une maison spacieuse, joliment décorée et un accueil chaleureux.
Nous avons apprécié les lits faits à l’arrivée, le linge de maison à disposition, les produits courants et nécessaires à la cuisine et à son entretien.
La toute proximité de la ville, le calme d’un environnement boisé, le plaisir de se retrouver au coin du feu après les différentes et nombreuses visites de la journée nous ont permis de passer un excellent week-end familial. Petits et grands auraient volontiers prolongé le séjour… que nous recommandons vivement.

Nous avons passé un superbe week-end en famille dans le gîte de M. et Mme HUBERT. Nous étions 3 couples accompagnés de 2 enfants.
L'accueil par Monsieur HUBERT,a été très chaleureux et la prise de possession des lieux a été très simple grâce à ses explications tout à fait pertinentes aussi bien au niveau de la vie courante que des lieux à visiter ou des ballades à faire.
Le gîte, proche du centre ville de Dijon, est très confortable et la propreté est irréprochable.
Nous nous sommes sentis très bien dans cet espace qui nous a permis de vivre un très bon moment en famille.
Nous recommandons particulièrement ce gîte et si l'occasion se présente nous y retournerons volontiers.

Magnifique Gîte

Je recommande ce gîte à tous les personnes désireuses de trouver une location très propre, très bien équipée, proche de la ville sans subir les désagréments et surtout décorer avec goût,
Le propriétaire est acceuillant et surtout très disponible. Nous avons pu faire un feu de cheminée avec le bois mis à disposition. Ce gîte est parfait pour les réunions de famille!! Nous en garderons un excellent souvenir.

Owner's Response: Notre maison a été choisie comme lieu de réunion de famille, ce qui est souvent le cas, chacun venant de sa région et se retrouvant à Dijon.
Les grands-parents les enfants et petits enfants, tous aussi sympathiques, calmes et propres.La maison a été bien utilisée pour toutes ses possibilités, mais laissée dans un état impeccable.
Nous aimerions les voir revenir à une autre saison.
