Sunflowers is fully AIR CONDITIONED and has Mosquito blinds on all windows/doors .


Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms + sofa bed (single) for extra guests. 2 bedrooms have balconies with furniture. 2+ bathrooms (1 en-suite) plus downstairs toilet.

Fully fitted/well equipped kitchen inc cooker, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Separate drying area with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Private garden (with furniture/parasol) overlooking 2 communal swimming pools and landscaped gardens. 3 tennis courts.

The living area has the bonus of Satellite TV with UK channels, DVD and CD player. Various movies, music, books and games.

Located in Nuevo Portil, a 20 minute drive from the Portuguese border on a prestigious golf course resort -a further 4 excellent courses very close by.

10 minute walk to the beautiful sandy beach.

Excellent local restaurants, tapas bars, cafes/beach bars plus supermarkets/local shops.

GOLF INFORMATION: Courses in this area are undiscovered making the green fees lower than the Algarve and Costa del Sol and playing times more easily available and without delays!

NUEVO PORTIL: 18 holes Par 71 over 5841 metres. Small slopes and some dog legs make the course perfect to walk. Excellent facilities; a training field close to Hole 1, a large putting green and chipping green. Golf club rental, private/group lessons, manual/electric trolleys. Plus all the services of a high quality 4* hotel.

EL ROMPIDO: 36 holes on 2 courses. South course Par 72 over 6148 metres and North course Par 72 over 6095 metres, surrounded by the natural marsh of Las Marismas del Rompido with some fantastic views of the Atlantic over large greens and impecca Bermuda 419 fairways. 15 minutes drive from NP.

ISLANTILLA: A 27 hole championship golf course. 15 minutes from El Rompido.

BELLAVISTA: 18 holes over 5739 metres.

ISLA CANELA: 18 holes over 6248 metres.

SEVILLE: Real club de golf de Seville.

IMMEDIATE LOCAL AREA: NP has a wonderful hot bread/pastry shop 5 mins walk from Sunflowers. They also sell other items such as cheese/eggs/drinks etc. There is also a small supermarket, bars/restaurants/take away pizza/internet access on the same parade.

El Rompido boasts plenty of bars/restaurants and small shops including a new thatched complex with a first class Italian restaurant plus local ones too.

There is also a Carrefour hypermarket at Cartaya which sells almost everything!!

BEACHES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES: The local beach stretches for 14km and is very suitable for young children as the Fleche del Rompido protects the beach from the high winds and rough currents of the Atlantic ocean.

The beach is backed by juniper woods and sand dunes and alongside are cycle tracks which go as far as Punta Umbria. Bike hire and horse riding are very popular and available locally for hire.

There are plenty of sporting activities on the beach plus boat trips across to the Fleche del Rompido.

Just outside El Rompido is the Kartodromo de Cartaya (Carting track) open year round and the very popular Aquopolis (water park) which opens normally the middle of June until first week in September.

Tennis Courts are also on site.

Great quality accomodation, in a wonderful area

We have stayed twice at Sunflowers in July with our toddler and loved it. The house is well furnished, with quality bedding, the decor is exactly like on the pictures, the house is comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the housing complex high quality. It has an underground garage and the pool is very well maintained and has a lifeguard (Spanish regulations).

We were met upon arrival by Amanda's rep locally and everything went seamlessly both times. we found the house upon arrival very clean.

Nuevo portil is located in a pretty untouched area of Spain, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby and the beaches are wonderful.

The fact that the house has Wifi is a definite bonus and it also has a good stock of DVD and English books.

The terrace is great for having lunch and dinner. A great accommodation at a good price.

A very good family holiday home

This is a very well fitted and furnished holiday rental on 3 floors.A lot of thought and taste has gone into the house and it works very well.The efficient aircon was brilliant in our "high season stay".

Patios were well shaded if needed and well used.The garden access to the pool area,and the pools themselves were tremendous,particularly for the 2 small children in our party.

The information folder and local maps were great.The owner could not have been more helpful.

The area is great and very Spanish. Fish is definitely on the menu.

Golf courses here and at Rompido were good but overwatered and only open at 8-8.30.

Visit highlights were; the beach;Ayamonte;Seville;and La Rabida.

I would strongly recommend the villa and area.

Wonderful villa in a lovely part of Spain but !

We rented this villa for a week with friends and family and children. The villa is in wonderful condition and has everything that one requires when staying in a self contained villa. Everything seems to of been thought of in great detail down to the supply of books and dvd's. This part of Spain is very Spanish and is good if you wish to get an idea of how the Spanish live. I would say that the food was not very good unless you absolutely love seafood and don’t mind eating it for lunch and dinner for the duration of your stay. Overall I would say that I would definitely visit that part of Spain again and if you really want to visit or even stay somewhere quite charming then visit a place called Ayamonte which is about 45 mins drive away and very easy to find travelling by car.

Our only one issue was the problems we had in getting our security deposit back, which took over a month, along with a lot of communication between ourselves and the owner, only to then receive it and find that money had been deducted and no reason giving. Due to the reason above I personally would not recommend friends to this particular accommodation, however, the location is a definite.

Owner's Response: It did take longer than usual to pay back the security deposit. Unfortunately the renter failed to add in this review that she took the main security lock key and the back door gate key back to UK! Plus I was not informed of this until 4/5 days later and not by her but by someone in Espana who had seen my property open. I called the renter immediately who admitted she had these keys in her handbag. I am not sure why she did not contact me myself. My property had been left unsecure for 4/5 days. I made arrangements for new locks/keys which cost well over 65 Euros plus I had to pay someone in Espana to do this for me. I woud like to add that the renter insisted on paying the security deposit by cheque a couple of days before arrival as she was having problems with her bank. I also gave this renter a good discounted rate on the normal rental price. So after she had returned my keys I posted her security deposit RECORDED DELIVERY to the address she gave me. She called a few days later to inform me she had not received it. I tracked and then called the Post Office to be told someone had signed for it! Obviously I was very concerned. First of all, my security keys had been taken back to UK and property left unsecure. Then I was told by Post Office someone had signed for the recorded delivery cheque BUT the renter was telling me she had not signed for it! I established the cheque had not been cashed, then stopped the cheque and made a bank transfer to the renters bank as requested. I charge £250 security deposit and returned £225...only deducting £25 for the replacements locks/keys. It should have been over 65 Euros. I am disappointed this renter has not told the full story of why her deposit refund was delayed. She was also offered receipts to show I was well out of pocket. I should have charged her the full amount ie 65Euros + man power but wanted closure on this so charged a small amount of £25 which I feel was more than reasonable.

Sunflowers is very well maintained and very clean.

The interior of the house is beautifully furnished to a very high standard with first class appliances with a well fitted kitchen.

The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of towels provided, even a huge beach towel each.

This property is exactly as advertised, probably better. It certainly shone out from anything else. I would go as far to say as it is the best holiday rental I've stayed in ever.

The owner had a fantastic information book in the property giving us plenty of ideas of where to eat, where to go etc. Also emergency and useful numbers which was a great help.

The restaurants in this area's are slightly more expensive than other Costa's but you get what you pay for and the food was excellent and the service too.

The whole area reminded us of what Spain used to be 30 years ago. Take a Spanish phrase book with you! No, don’t. The owner had even provided a phrase book and plenty of local maps too.

We didn’t have a wet day but there were also plenty of dvd's, books and indoor games available.

The beach was about a 10 minute walk and beautiful.

The swimming pools were sparkling.

We didn’t want to leave Sunflowers and will certainly be returning.

Huelva (the closest city to NP) has excellent shopping facilities and claims to be the “Flamenco Capital” with many of the buildings dating back to the 15th century.

South of Huelva is Matalascañas which is packed with local restaurants and a beautiful long sandy beach. Close by is the Donana National Park where you can see a huge variety of birds and Lynx, all amongst beautiful scenery, which includes marshlands, pine forests, sand dunes and freshwater lakes.

A city not to be missed is the beautiful and vibrant Seville which is approx a 40 minute drive from Huelva. It lies of the banks of the Guadalquivir River and is one of the largest historical centres in Europe.

West of Nuevo Portil is the pretty fishing village of El Rompido (5 minute drive) where you will find excellent beach restaurants serving tasty good value local and international cuisine.

A definite must is a visit to the border town of Ayamonte as it typifies the ambience and architecture of this area.

It also has huge good quality fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables with reading lights and rug. Patio doors lead onto a large balcony with bistro table and chairs overlooking the communal gardens and pool area. Bedroom 2 - Twin room with has huge good quality fitted wardrobes, bedside table with reading light, chair and rug. Bedroom 3 - Twin room. It also has a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, chair, bedside tables with reading lights, modern standard lamp and rug. Patio doors lead out to a large balcony with sun loungers with comfy covers overlooking the pool area. All the beds have top quality sprung mattresses with additional sprung mattress pad for extra comfort. From our own experience we know how important it is to have a good night sleep when away from home! The living area has a full sprung single sofa bed.
