Perfect place to stay in Somerset!

  • 5 out of 5
The barn was just as it looked in the pictures. It was very cozy and filled with light during the day. It was plenty roomy and very comfortable. The bed in the loft was very comfortable and we slept well. Roy and Mo were excellent hosts and gave us all kinds of tips on places to see and things to do. They were very eager to make sure our stay was pleasant and that we had all we needed. The garden was beautiful and was a perfect place to relax at the end of a day. The barn was a perfect home base to explore the surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Vobster Inn. It might have been one of the best meals we had on our whole two-week trip! We would definitely recommend this property!

Ideallic holiday location

  • 4 out of 5
We received a lovely welcome from Roy (the owner) and Huxley (Hux for short, the black labrador).
If you wish a quiet, relaxing break, there is no better location than this cosy comfortable cottage.
The cottage is set in beautiful gardens and the only noise is from the garden pond and birds singing. It was lovely returning to the cottage at the end of the day to either relax in the garden or close the door and enjoy the cosy comfortable interior.
It is an ideal location for visiting Somerset and surrounding counties and Roy was able to provide excellent information about places to visit. A visit to the Roman Baths and also the Modern Baths should not be missed.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday.
I would recommend this cottage to anyone wishing a relaxing, peaceful holiday. It would be suitable for couples or families with small children. Plenty of places to visit within a short distance. A car is essential for this location.

Cottage in the country

  • 5 out of 5
Great location, wonderfully rural with only a 30 minute drive to Bath. Right out the front door to country foot paths taking us to a local restaurant or into the country.
They have a marvelous main garden which connects to our own sweet little garden in front of the cottage, complete with a pond. Diverse movies and a large bookcase were unexpected treats.

The town of Frome is interesting to visit and only about 15 minutes away. We enjoyed Cheap Street with the stream running down the center and all the little shops and restaurants.

The hosts are genuinely nice people, very helpful when needed and also gave us our privacy. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Great for cosy family get-away

Wonderfully relaxing environment for cosy family get-away. Deceptively spacious with one large upper floor bedroom. Suitable all year round, and a great collection of books.

Wonderful, quiet location

  • 5 out of 5
What a beautiful location! The garden is enchanting, our children loved it. Roy and Mo are amazing hosts that made our short visit even better. Our GPS took us right to the street, and a small sign pointed into the driveway. Great location for hiking and near a quarry for scuba, 20 minute drive from Bath and much closer to several small towns. The house is comfortable, clean, well maintained, and easily accommodates 7 people. Satellite TV and a DVD collection helped pass the down time, and excellent art on all the walls. The freezer is located across the garden, and had plenty of room for food. We didn't use the clothes washer or line to dry clothes. They provided wireless internet, but the signal is weak.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the review. The wireless signal is good but it is important that the router is switched over to the barn

Pleasant Stay

  • 5 out of 5
We had a very enjoyable stay at Roy & Mo's converted barn. Having breakfast outside looking over the beautiful garden was a joy, and we had everything we needed in the comfortable cottage.

The surrounding countryside was beautiful and there were lovely walks from the door.

Roy & Mo were helpful without being intrusive, advising us where to eat and even letting us use their laptop to investigate.

We look forward to returning.
