Self catering at country side, free trout fishing.

Old farmhouse, beautifully located 100 meter from lake with free trout fishing and row boat. Other houses at the farm: barn, smithy with small museum and bee house. 30 acres fields and forests. Excellent for forest hiking, fishing and bathing in the summer and skiing in the winter. Beaver, elk and deer sighting.

It is by a small lake at a peaceful place in the countryside, only 15 minutes from the coastal city of Arendal in the middle of Norway’s most popular summer vacation area.

Excellent for couples and families with children. Huge outdoor area for playing - various playing tools/equioment for children.

It will not be our last stay ...

June 22 – July 2 2008

When we arrived we suddenly felt in love with this beautiful house. Our first expression was to be in one of these “Astrid Lindgren Houses” – story of Michel in Kathult. The old house is full of lovely details so we and the children had a lot of things to discover in the house and the nature. We liked to row the red boat on the lake and to swim in the clear waters. We tried to explore the nearby beaches and the holiday park in Kristiansand. The only thing we missed was 5 degrees more on the thermometer. The house itself was best equipped – we missed nothing here. It was our first stay in Norway, but it will not be the last stay here because there are so many places to visit.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Great place near a lake. The owners are the nicest people we met in Norway. Extremely clean and comfortable house. Great terrace with possibity for barbeque. In short: if you are looking for a quiet and wonderfull place: go there!

A lovely house in a beautiful setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Frolandhouse. The weather was relatively kind to us and we enjoyed plenty of time outdoors in and around Froland and further afield.

Well we got lucky with the weather in the end! 4 days of beautiful sunshine that really made our holiday!

We loved the beach at Storesand and drinking coffee in Grimstad and the house was without doubt the nicest house we have ever rented.

Thanks so much for making the house so special and thank you for your kind hospitality, always looking to make our stay more pleasurable.

Next time we will bring our golf clubs!

Great summer week in Frolandhouse

We spent a quiet week (second half June 2009) in Frolandhouse and enjoyed every day of it: the surroundings, great weather, the peacefulness (in our hectic lives), the kindness of our hosts and hospitable house.



Moreover, the fly-fishing in the lake was fun: nothing very technical but lots of (rather small) trout and perch. I'll send the picture of the big one that didn't get away.



The comfort of the house was OK and as stipulated in the Internet.



One minor remark: we missed a microwave to warm up the bottles of our young boys.
