About Nick & Debbie Siminson

We are Nick & Debbie Siminson. We are married & have been living in Kent since 1985.During this time we have enjoyed many holidays all over the world helped in the main by Debbie's involvement in the Travel Industry for most of her working life, but more recently as a lecturer in Travel & Tourism. Nick has spent most of his working life in the Marine Insurance Industry in London, but was lucky enough to retire in 2008.

Why Nick & Debbie Siminson chose Rockley

We first visited Barbados in 1988 and actually stayed here at Rockley when it was an all inclusive hotel called 'Club Rockley'. We returned to Barbados many times since then staying in various hotels and apartments on the Island, but were always drawn back to Rockley. After talking about buying a property in Barbados for many years, it was during our Christmas holiday in 2007 that we finally plucked up the courage to make an offer on this apartment. We have never looked back!

What makes this apartment unique

Over the years we have stayed, as holiday makers, in most 'clusters' and in most styles of property. We truly believe that Bushy Park is the most pretty of the clusters, and we were overjoyed to find this property which had everything we were looking for. Being upstairs and having 2 wonderful balconies which extend the living space, and its position in the corner allows a beautiful cool breeze to drift through the apartment even on the hottest of days, in our view making 634 Bushy Park unique.

Our holiday in 634 Bushy Park at Rockley Golf and Country Club was exceptional in every respect. The apartment is fresh, clean, well furnished and with very good air conditioning throughout - a must!! It is within a few paces of an excellent, very quiet communal pool and of course only ten minutes walk away from the superb Accra Beach and Rockley with all its facilities. The apartment garden surrounds are maintained in first class condition adjacent to plenty of parking spaces. The icing though was the fact that membership for one person at Rockley Golf Club is included with the cost, which made golf for my wife and I, plus a buggy, the best value golf abroad, we have ever known. On our return to UK, we immediately booked for a month in 2014 !"

Home away from home

Where to start, to walk into an oasis from the gorgeous heat would be a start. Everything and anything you need are at your fingertips. Fresh towels and linen available. A wonderful lady that comes twice a week to keep the apartment spick and span. All you need for a self catering holiday is there. You have all the amenities you need too, laundry, swimming pool, bar, restuarant all only metres away.And the wildlife is amazing, monkeys with your morning coffee froliking on the golf course and a seranade to die for at night from the local frogs. Only a short walk and you are at the supermarket, which has a taxi service to take you back to the apartment. Taxi services on the premises, call and within 5 minutes you are being picked up. 15 minutes to the beach and a short ride on the bus and your in Bridgetown. The ladies in the office (also on site) are so helpful any queries/problems they drop everything to assist.

Having dealt with Nick and Debbie I don't believe I would deal or stay any place else. Barbados is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I found peace for my soul there. Thank you Nick and Debbie and hopefully this will become a long standing relationship as I am planning on going to Barbados wherever I can.

Superb retreat

We were looking for a balance between being close to local amenities/routes and in a green quiet spot to chill - exactly what we hoped for.

Nick and Debbie were a real mine of time and money-saving information and all the arrangements ran smoothly from booking to vacating the apartment.

The accommodation itself is very spacious and creatively planned with all you could wish for - access to a laundry and an onsite taxi driver Bajan Tours were really useful bonuses.

Pool area was metres away and never busy but we used the the bus service plus taxis to explore the islands beaches mainly.

The detail of the property has been well- documented by other reviewers already so suffice to say you will not be disappointed !

Must do trips are the Concorde ExhibItion and Bathsheba by bus via Bridgetown.

Will undoubtedly be back soon to this gem thanks again Nick.

A lovely bright and breezy gem, ideally situated.

We have stayed at Rockley Gol & Country Club before and this was our first ime at Nick and Debbie's apartment. I am so pleased we made this choice as it was a lovely and bright .apartment and very comfortable. It was also perfectly situated with lovely views of the golf course from the front balcony and we whiled away our evenings with a nice cool glass of something on the swinging sette, just watching the late golfers and trying to catch that lovely 'pinky' sky that heralds the end of the day - bliss. There was also a very large shaded balcony at the apartment's entrance which provided many seating areas and tables for dining outdoors.

There were many extras provided within the apartment, cool box, beach mat, beach chairs and towels, lots of games and DVD's etc. A lot of the items provided were carefully thought out, most practical and saved luggage space. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of space in wardrobes and drawers. All of the furnishings were bright and tasteful.

My husband enjoyed the free golf and the lovely pool was just a matter of a few yards away - what more could one ask for? The shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance and the large local supermarket (a Waitrose franchise) provides a free shuttle bus service for customers so there are no heavy loads to carry should you not have a hire car.

Our favourite beach (Worthing) is easily reached by foot and is one of many beaches in the area. The buses in Barbados are brilliant, frequent and so ridiculously cheap it is almost embarrassing to just pay a couple of dollars to travel - they are well worth experiencing. I just love those ZR Taxis that stop anywhere and belt out their Reggae music - they are a hoot!

Nick was very helpful and courteous during our booking and any subsequent contact and his managing agents were alsovery helpful and efficient.

We really enjoyed our 3 week stay and regret not booking for a further week. We would not hesitate to return to this lovely apartment and I only hope that when we decide to return, that it will be available.

Enjoyable Stay

had a lovely time at 634 and would definitely recommend you considering it as a base for your holiday in Barbados.

Booking was a breeze. Although you deal mainly with the agent, Nick and Debbie are involved the whole way though and give you a very friendly and personable service. I loved the top tips even though I am a frequent visitor to the island!

Location is great. Quiet and safe which was important to me as single female traveller. The supermarket and beach etc were all within walking distance and if you want to go further then you can pick up the public transport easily. This part of the south coast in my opinion is one of the nicest places to stay on the island.

Facilities were good too. I never had a chance to get in the pool but it looked lovely and was almost always empty. The laundry room was useful, free tokens were provided for use, so perfect for freshening up your favourite items. Kitchen was well stocked, I managed to self cater for pretty much the whole 2 weeks without needing anything additional.

The apartment was very comfortable and in good condition. The back balcony with the swinging chair was a lovely place to sit and look out onto the golf course or watch the monkeys.

You get good support from the management team. They are not at all intrusive but they do check to make sure things are ok via telephone and also their office is very close by.

I would recommend this apartment to my family and friends and I will be returning as soon as I can find some availability!

Barbados holiday 2014

The apartment was everything it said it would be and more. Well maintained and furnised, clean and extremely comfortable. The views over the golf course are lovely. The pool and surrounds were clean and the water quality was excellent. The wildlife - monkeys - humming birds etc give the area an authentic equatorial feel. Access to shops bars etc was easy and we particularly liked Bert's and Champany. We would certainly recommend the property. Rockley is a good base with with easy access to the road network and we visited most of the main island attractions - caves, wildlife sanctuary, North Point etc all of which were worth the visit. We visited Oistens on both Fridays which was an experience in itself.

Excellent - fulfilled every advertised promise.

Although in the bustling Christchurch parish this Rockley villa apartment is wonderfully quiet, situated, as it is in the centre of the golf course. The outlook from the wood paled balcony is across the main fairway here mature trees line the service road. Young Royal Palms fringe the near edge of the fairway and you can spend ages watching the birdlife, quits, finches, grackles and the like squabbling for food. (Tip: cover your bananas and other soft fruit because the cheeky finches pop into the kitchen for a nibble,) The balcony has a comfortable recliner sunbed and a swing seat too.

The apartment itself is surprisingly roomy - well furnished, bright and modern. The TV boasts all the necessary channels and there's a iPod dock which (thankfully) doubled as a charger for my iPhone as I'd forgotten to take plug adapters for 110volts.

The single bedroom was also light and airy while the bed itself was wonderfully comfortable plus there's ample storage for clothes and general holiday gubbins. At first we were surprised that there were no mosquito nets but soon realized that Barbados is not a 'buggy' island and they're not necessary. When it comes to equipment I can't think of anything that the apartment lacked, which makes a welcome change having stayed in rental properties , apartments, villas eco-lodges around the Caribbean for years.

The location is very handy too. There's a wood well stocked supermarket about ten minutes walk away and the main beaches - Worthing and Accra - are within walking distance as are some really excellent restaurants and eateries. The owners pre-visit advice on where to go, what to do and where to eat (and drink) was absolutely accurate too and we were only limited by time from not doing the whole card, as it were.

Things to do whilst on Barbados from our own experience: Go to Oistins Friday fish fry, visit the Flower Forest and Welchman's Gulley. Drive up the east coast to Bathsheba and eat at The Roundhouse. Find Codrington College to see the magnificent trees. Take a look at Speightstown and Hole Town, Bridgetown too of course and eat at Champers (often) and the Harlequin. Tikkis Beach Bar (Accra beach) is good too. We did all that in 7 days. Imagine what you can do in 2 weeks. Enjoy. And thanks to the Simminsons for doing such a wonderful job with their apartment.

Car: not necessary

This apartment is located in the beautiful Bushy Park cluster of Rockley Resort, set in 70 acres of tropical park land and overlooks the swimming pool and golf course.

Rockley resort includes a 9 hole (18 tee) par 35 golf course, with its own professionally staffed pro shop, bar and restaurant. Golf clubs,pull trolleys and Club carts are available to hire.

Also on site are Tennis courts, a spa, a gentleman's hair dressers, a booking office for Adventure land Barbados and a Taxi rank.

Within a 10 minute walk you will find the beautiful sandy Accra beach, a large fully stocked super market with fresh and frozen produce (who provide a free shuttle service back to your apartment), an International Bank, Post office and 24hr Petrol station which also has a food shop inside.

The vibrant and cosmopolitan St Lawrence Gap area providing many bars, restaurants, and clubs is also walkable or a short taxi or bus ride away.

The capital Bridgetown is 20 minuets up the coast.

Golf: Free Golf to one person staying in the apartment, also free use of owners golf clubs and pull trolley.
