Set in 5 acres of olive & fruit trees with sweeping views of distant villages

Welcome to Trullo Il Paradiso, our 250 year old beautifully renovated trullo surrounded by ancient olive groves and fruit trees just 5 miles from the towns of Ostuni and Martina Franca. ll Paradiso is a luxury property set in 5 acres of peaceful countryside. Come and enjoy the delights of picking your own fruits for breakfast and opening the shutters to reveal sweeping views of distant hill towns. Our trullo has been lovingly restored to maintain original features as well as adding comfort and style. The trullo is cool in summer with its own deck chairs and outdoor eating area, and very cosy in the winter with its charming wood fire and central heating. Just 40 minutes from Brindisi or an hour from Bari, Tullo Il Parasido can be easily reached by Ryanair flights from London Stansted as well as regular connections from Rome and Milan.

Car rental: We can supply the name of a reliable car rental firm based in Ostuni. This service includes a pick up from the airport and the delivery of the rental car directly to the trullo on the following morning. On leaving, a driver will collect and take you to the airport thus avoiding the hassle of queues and other inconveniences. A beautiful huge swimming pool is available for use by our guests in the heart of the village, at no extra charge.

About Anna Maggio

I was born in Puglia and live in London. I was inspired to go back to my roots and create my 'haven of peace' away from the strains and stresses of city life. My love of Pugliese food led me to run cookery courses in Italy and to work in TV with chefs such as the late Keith Floyd and Rick Stein helping them to discover the truly traditional foods of this unique part of Italy for their respective BBC series. In Puglia I can delight in all the things that are important to me: beautiful tranquil nature, clear blue sea, great food and stunning towns. Rick Stein came to my trullo in Pascarosa and here is his comment: 'my friend Anna Maggio has bought a trullo just outside Ostuni and renovated it into an amazingly atmospheric house set in an olive grove' (Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escapes).

Why Anna Maggio chose Ostuni

Although I have lived in London for 40 years, I feel Puglia is still my spiritual 'home'. Here I can breath the scents of the seasons and taste the wonderful fruit and vegetables which grow in profusion throughout the year. The glorious olive oil which my 150 ancient olive trees give each year is a source of constant joy. Picking fresh figs and ripe cherries for breakfast is pure bliss. This is why owning a piece of this land give me such an amazing pleasure.

Puglia has a great deal to offer; hundreds of miles of coastline, ancient and unspoilt hill towns, and always nature at its best: beautiful, rugged scenery with knarled olive trees, spring flowers, red soil and acres of vineyards. The towns of Ostuni, Martina Franca, Alberobello, famous for its trulli - thousands of circular stone hobbit-like houses and Cisternino are just a few miles away from the trullo and they all offer stunning architecture, lovely walks and a choice of superb restaurants. The excellent white wines of Locorotondo and the reds from the Salentine peninsular will complement your 'alfresco' meals under the ancient olive trees of our trulli. Here you are never too far from the sea. The Adriatic and the Ionian seas offer large beaches and quiet coves, with beautiful clear blue water. The more you explore this area the more enchanted you will be by its unspoilt beauty.

  • The main bedroom (large double bed) has wonderful views over distant hills and French doors which open onto the garden and the patio area. The second bedroom (twin beds or large double) faces South: it has a large window with great views of almond and olive trees. Each bedroom has two alcoves and vaulted ceilings - the beds and built in wardrobes fit nicely and simply into the alcoves. The second bedroom can also convert into a double bedroom.

Notes: Trullo Il Paradiso is a 250 years old building with the traditional cones typical of this region. The trullo has just been lovingly renovated and the original features have been respectfully updated, giving the house a more open feeling of space and maximum comfort. In cooler months the central heating and a woodburning stove will keep you warm and cosy. Th traditional thick stone walls keep the trullo cool in summer. The surrounding grounds, with over 150 ancient olive trees and a variety of fruit trees will provide all the shade needed when you want to relax and read a book or simply have a siesta in the open air. The trullo is reached through a country narrow uneven road. THE HUGE SWIMMING POOL AVAILABLE TO OUR GUESTS IS ONLY A SHORT DISTANCE AWAY.

A memorable week

We've had a really different experience of Italy this time! We love the trullo, so quiet and surrounded by nature - lizards everywhere, a hoopoe that landed on the roof and did his distinctive call.
We will miss waking up in this lovely home!

The trullo is fantastico!

Il Paradiso certainly lives up to its name. So peaceful and a great break away from the rush of England. All the local towns are beautiful. Alberobello was the family favourite. This is our 5th trip to Italy and we love Puglia as much as the other wonderful places we have been.

A wonderful holiday

We have had a wonderful family holiday: autumn sunshine, delicious food and memorable moments. We shall return to Puglia to explore the beaches of the Salentine and the forests of the Gargano.

Trullo is located in a quiet place, it offers all the confort the tourist needs. Me and my girlfriend realy enjoyed that 6 nights which we spent in this house and we very much recomend this house for vacation. Position of the trullo is ideal for exploring Puglia and there is a lot of things to see. For the end owner very nice and reliable person.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
