Lovely place for a holiday

I just have to say how lovely Lavender cottage was. A real home away from home with evrything we needed for a great holiday. Location of cottage is really nice in the moors. Very quiet. Ideal for a family with gated areas and lovely garden house with lots of games and things to keep kids entertain. Perfect for a couple though as very romantic with a lovely four poster bed and jacuzzi bath. Hopefully if we go back next year there would be better weather. Great supply of DVDs though for rainy days.
All communications with owner were fabulous as well.

Lovely Holiday

The cottage lived up to all the reviews that had been posted.

It was well thought out in that there was a separate space for kids to play games (and adults) in the garden, plenty of DVD's for rainy days, and the cottage was very clean and comforting. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking and there was plenty of information on days out and walks around the area if you are a keen walker.

It was also lovely, the bottle of wine and cakes and treats for our dog.

We would recommend this cottage to anyone who was thinking of staying here and would love to come back for a longer stay.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for your kind comments and we look forward to you visiting again.

Visiting From Canada

It's always difficult choosing the right place to stay from a series of photographs wondering if this place or that is right place for your family. You can rest assure that this lovely little 19th century cottage is cute as a button and whistle clean and is a perfect home base for a sightseeing family or a relaxing getaway.
Our family of 4 recently stayed at Lavender Cottage for a week, often gone from early morning to late evening absorbing the sights of Wales from Wrexham to Chester, Snowdonia to Llandudno. It was perfect place to come back to and talk about the day.
The full, well-equipped kitchen allowed us to save a lot of money by buying groceries and stocking the fridge so we could cook breakfast, make sandwiches for the day and eat dinner when we got back.
Everybody's opinion is different and each family's standards are varied. Some people would say, "Oh this isn't big enough," or "this isn't like we have at home," or "I wish it had this or that.". If that's the case then you're missing the point and the charm of renting a holiday cottage and you need to stay at a hotel.
Our wish list when we were looking for cottages included privacy, clean, well-positioned for travel to other towns and villages, within 10 minutes of a major town, enough space to comfortably accommodate and sleep 4 (2 adults and 2 teens). This cottage checked all of those boxes.
There is always downsides to any place you stay, for us, the downsides were minimal. We preferred to have a cottage that had wifi connectivity for our laptop, but we quickly discovered that we could purchase a week long access code from BT internet and that solved that issue. The other was that it is so beautifully secluded it was almost hard to find, but after a day we had it down pat and didn't give it a second thought.
Not once did we regret staying here.
The games room entertained the kids on the nights we were home early, the bath tub Jacuzzi is a lovely bonus. My favorite part was the shower. I always love a great shower to start my day and this cottage has the best shower I've felt since Hawaii in 2001.
You need to remember that Lavender Cottage is over 150 years old, so don't expect a brand new house. What you can expect is a well built, clean and comfortable stay with quiet nights (windows are great) and comfy beds.
We found the owners to be very easy to deal with and very easy to contact. They will answer any questions you have.

I could tell from the moment we unlocked the door that this property was going to be 1st class, and we weren't disappointed the owners have considered everything for a really comfortable stay. the place is a real home from home, please consider when reading this that we didn't have the greatest weather, it didn't matter the location is a perfect place to discover lots of interesting places to visit and things to do, our Beagle Jasper loved it too!
Can not recommend highly enough, will visit again.

Best regards,

Mervyn, Bev and Jasper.
