**GREAT VALUE** 4 BED A/C VILLA, LARGE PRIVATE POOL, CLOSE TO WEST COAST BEACHES

We had the great pleasure to spend 10 days at the Lime Villa in August 2011 for our Barbados vacation. The villa is just great. We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the villa. 4 very big individual rooms with a total of 2 king beds and 4 singles. The room are incredibly sound proofed. The pool was BIG and very well maintained. Everything works well (TV, DVD, Air Conditioning, appliances, etc.)
The owner David is a dedicated owner. He was always answering his e-mails right away and with precise information. David set us up nicely with airport transportation and gave us all the info we needed for baby gear and car rental.
The villa is situated in a nice & rich neighborhood. The only thing I would say is that if you plan on bringing your family to the beach a few time during your vacation, make sure you rent a car. They are cheap to rent (compared to other islands) and it is necessary. Don’t plan on walking from the house to the beach with a stroller. The roads are not large enough and you will soon find out that it feels dangerous walking with a stroller. There is a way to go to the beach by walk but this way was not practical during the summer time and still, a 15 minutes walk. Also, if you make it to the beach walking, the supermarket and the restaurants are close BUT just far enough not to walk to (Still, you can walk if you want).
I recommend the Lime Villa to everyone that wants a GREAT house at a reasonable price.

The Lime Villa provided our family with plenty of space to play and enough privacy we didn't feel we were on top of each other all week long. The garden is just beautiful and provided space for a nightly game of bocce ball (we were able to try our new glow in the dark balls - what fun they were!). The pool was fantastic especially for our one family member who returned home from his mid-day fishing trip to find himself locked out of the house with nothing to do for a whole hour but swim! We loved the convenient location to town and grocery shopping as well as dining options. David was fantastic in helping us get connected with a local company able to deliver baby items before we arrived since we arrived late in the evening. He also pointed us to the web site of the local grocery where we were able to order enough items to have breakfast in the villa the next morning. The store delivered to the villa during the day while the housekeeper was there and she graciously stored them before our arrival. He even made the best ever suggestion toward our arrival. Because of the lateness of the hour and our not being familiar with the island (we had a rather large group and were getting cars) David suggested he arrange for us to be picked up and delivered to the villa. He had suggested we prearrange with Stoutes car rental, to have our cars delivered to the villa the next morning. This would save us one days rental on the cars and we would not have to wander out to pick cars up. It was a brilliant solution!

We found the Just Grillin restaurant to be a favorite for an affordable meal - good selection of grilled fish, burgers, and vegetables. Prices were good.

Our favorite higher end eating establishment was NISHI. The drink menu offered so many options it was like being in a candy store and the ones we tried were all good. The food was excellent. We were a large party and everyone ordered something different for the purpose of trying as many options as possible and they were all EXCELLENT! We also went with baby in tow....very child friendly place. The owner and chief came to visit with us it was the best meal we had on the island!!!

Mount Gay Rum Tour - The $7.00 tour allows you to heard the story of their rum and then to drink way more than $7.00 worth of rum - a must do.

This was our first visit to Barbados and we had a wonderful time! We travelled with 2 other couples and had three small children between us. We felt a villa would give us the flexability that we need with the little one's and we couldn't have been happier. They could sleep upstairs while we stayed up and enjoyed the evenings.
The yard is large and great for playing outside. There is shade somewhere all day which is nice for the children. The pool was large (it seemed much larger than the pools in surrounding villas) and we could all comfortably swim at the same time. The inside of the villa is spacious, clean, and well stocked with dishes and linens. Keep in mind though, that self-catering means you may need to replace some basics (like dish soap or toilet paper) while you are there. The bedrooms are big and having air conditioning is great. It was also good to have two full baths upstairs and the half bath downstairs.
We chose not to rent a car and either walked or took taxi's (which we found reasonably priced). Holetown is a quick taxi ride or a bit of a longer walk. We also walked each day to the beach which took about 10 minutes (might be a bit shorter without the kids). The beach we visited was lovely. Not busy at all, lots of sand for the kids, and the ocean was perfect for swimming.
We had a lovely meal (very reasonably price) at the Beach House in Holetown and would recommend eating there at least once during your stay.
We certainly recommend staying at Lime Villa. It was a perfect vacation and we hope to get back there soon!
