Sophistication in the 6th
Saint Sulpice is the ideal home-away-from-home; a quiet, centrally-located stylish and sophisticated retreat from the bustle of the 6th Arr. The apartment is tranquil even though it is in a building on a major boulevard because it faces the courtyard and side streets and is equipped with double-pane windows. The location is chock-full of conveniences: a metro stop within a block and a half, and a Franprix and Monoprix less than 5 and 10 minutes away respectively.
Justine, who greeted us upon our arrival, was wonderfully helpful in showing us around and explaining the workings of everything in the kitchen and the rest of the apartment. We very much appreciated the owner's thoughtful generous welcoming gift of macarons and other snacks that greeted us upon our arrival, it really set the tone for our stay.
With two elegantly outfitted bedrooms, a reasonably-sized and up-to-date kitchen and bathroom, and a very comfortable living room it was the perfect apartment for a couple like us prefer a bit more room in our rentals. The muted greys of the color scheme and the mixture of classic and modern light fixtures make for a very bright apartment. The kitchen features all of the latest appliances, including a N’Espresso machine.
It contains the architectural details that make Paris apartments so special (ceiling and wall mouldings, large windows, traditional French window and door hardware), but is also renovated in a way that renders it comfortable and modern. We felt instantly at home, as did our friends who stopped by for coffee toward the end of our stay – we were able to entertain three people in the living room without feeling cramped. The building has a stylish but friendly ambience overall, with well-maintained classic landings outside of the typically tiny elevator.
We loved Saint Sulpice and would gladly stay there again; in our many years of traveling to Paris in the winter this residence was one of our highpoints.
