My name is Brett. I love helping people.

I was raised on The Gold Coast and was fortunate enough to have flown the world as an International Airline Pilot and now I am back to look after guests here- I love it.

I want you to have the best time on your holidays or work trip.

A few years ago I was honoured that a major holiday rental company invited me to be their keynote speaker and I also started a company that helped owners give guests an awesome experience.

We have recently upgraded and love our new lights that illuminate the rainforest at night giving a truly unique experience. I am on hand, if you need, to help you get the best out of your stay at our unique and amazing location right in the treetops overlooking the Baron River and minutes away from waterfalls where you can swim.

I am a father of two girls, I love swimming, running, surfing, diving and making lovely meals. You will often find me shopping in Rustys markets for great local produce or early morning at Edge Hill ready to take on the Blue Arrow Walk/run at Mount Witfield and later enjoying a great breakfast with coffee in Edge Hill.

This place is truely amazing and awesome. If your looking for a place to stay in cairns, this is the place to stay. This home is beautiful and location is great and close to everything.

The home is so much bigger than it actually looks in the photos. We stayed here with a large group and there was plenty of room for us to spread out with the 2 huge Verandahs that overlook the river. The host had just installed some lights, so that at night they shine straight into the tree tops which just looks spectacular.

The property is absolutely clean and stylish and has everything you need . A kitchen with all the items you’d need and all very clean and well presented. The bedrooms are huge and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. This place is just so relaxing and peaceful. The pool is beautiful and a perfect place to relax during the day.

My favourite part of the stay is there is waterfalls and hikes right on your doorstep. We swam everyday in the beautiful water that you can walk to or drive to. You could have a holiday just at the home and not need to go anywhere else ❤️ so glad we found this hidden treasure.

Finally our Five-star host were amazing. Brett met us on site to welcome us into his beautiful home and gave us heaps of useful information of the area and maintained good communication. They were so lovely and responded very quickly, and were very accommodating.

Wonderful house in the rainforest with the Barron River bubbling past! Very private, with a great deck for outdoor living. Host Brett really went out of his way to make us feel welcome and responded really quickly to the one small issue that cropped up during our 9-night stay. Would highly recommend Wanggulay to anyone looking for a super-relaxing, memorable stay in FNQ. We'd love to come back again!
