A location with the WOW! factor

When you open the apartment door, the view that greets you more than lives up to the photo on the site. The flat itself is clean and roomy and had all the facilities we needed for our stay. It would benefit from air-conditioning rather than the fans as we had extremely hot weather ( 30 to 36 deg) throughout our holiday. The location is very convenient for strolling down into Xlendi or going straight down to the promenade for swimming. We had only one poor meal (in Marsalforn) and having used about two thirds of bars and restaurants in Xlendi, we were never disappointed. The best we had were at the Ic-Cima restaurant (about 50 yards left from the apartment) and the Ta' Nona snackbar (down on the waterfront).
The little car-park about 100 yards from the flat often got busy, but we were always able to park about 50 yards further up the street.
Roadworks on the promenade sent us the alternative route out of Xlendi through Munxia and we found a good supermarket there, handy for popping in our our return from trips out.
There was a kind of mini-fiesta at the church in Il-Fontana over the middle weekend, with fireworks and banners decorating the streets. It would be a good idea to have a collection of information in the flat to let people know about such
local events. There could also be a journal where guests could leave hints and tips for other visitors. We also left some books, hoping to start a little library for the use of future guests. On our last day, we did find a free book exchange in the free trade shop in St George's square in Victoria - just minutes after I had bought a new book to read on plane home.
We had a couple of electrical glitches, but with the help of a neighbour, got in touch with Alfred and he talked me through sorting the first, but the problem with the lift on the last couple of days had to be fixed after we left.
Gozo is a charming island with plenty of scenic and historic features, but the arbritrary nature of the road signs makes some of them very difficult to find.
But, after all the activities of the day, it was sitting on the balcony (or just a little back into the room for shade) and having a drink, looking out at the glorious view, that made this trip special.
