The 1st floor apartment, which is also accessible by lift, is well maintained, tastfully decorated and furnished to a high standard, with a lounge that overlooks one of the large pools.
It has two three seat sofas, one of which is a large sofa bed, large TV with satellite connection, CD player/ipod and DVD facilities.
The Kitchenette and dining area are very well equipped. The bedrooms are both spacious and have plenty of storage.
The family size bathroom, which has a bath/shower facility and bidet, also contains a washer dryer for your added convenience.
The complex itself has recently been renovated, the secure gardens are pretty and there is a gate that opens on to a pleasent sandy beach. The beach cafe/restaurant is very convenient and serves good quality food and beverages.
Other restaurants, shops, supermarkets and a good bus service are all less than a 5 minute walk, so no need for a car.
An airport pick up service is also available. All linen and towels are provided.
Marbellamar is a part residential part rental complex, therefore it remains reasonably quiet all year round. It is suitable for couples, families, young and senoir citizens alike. It has two adult and two childrens pools, all of which are never that busy. They are open from 1st May until October 31st
The gardens are secure and well kept. The beach is natrual and clean and is a favourite to the local spanish. The beach bar/restaurant is open daily through the warmer season, March through to end of October There are also other eaterys a short walk along the beach, left and right of the complex
Next to the complex there is another beach club called the Leila Playa,
you can have a drink/meal and watch an evening’s entertainment.
You can also book trips etc at their reception area; this is also a good landmark for taxi directions, taxis usually know the name. The closest restaurant/bar is on the beach, in front of the complex, food is good and traditional, but a bit on the pricey side.
Cross over the main road via the bridge in front of Marbellamar, you will find a reasonable restaurant in the square, pizzas, pasta traditional fayre and breakfasts etc.
There is also a Chinese restaurant on the upper level.
Local shops etc.
There are two supermarkets, Supersol and Lidl, chemists, Medical centre, Dentist, DVD/video hire shop (hire card in the apartment), hardware shop a couple of banks, internet cafe, these are also over the walkway.
Other Facilities etc.
There are some very good restaurants in the nearby marina of Cabo Pino, also a very good beach with beach bars and watersports, including waterskiing, windsurfing and fishing. This is situated along the beach to the right of the complex as you face the sea. You can either walk along the beach 15mins to get to it, or bus 1 or 2 stops towards Marbella.
The other commercial complex is about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach club, there are a whole host of restaurants in this area, Spanish, Indian, Mexican, Swiss, Chinese and Fish and chips. As well as restaurants, there is another supermarket and some gift/beach supplies shops.
Bus stop is near the bridge on both sides of the road. You can catch the bus to Fuengirola (same side as the apartment) and into Marbella (opposite side)
The buses are extremely cheap and seem to be plentiful
Taxis are also plentiful and reasonably inexpensive. If you need to book a taxi you can go to the complex next door (Leila Playa) and get one from reception.
Good shops/markets in Fuengirola and also a fantastic hypermarket /shopping mall on the way there, called Miramar. You can pick up a bus to Miramar (no 4) a couple of 100 yards around the corner from the bus station. There are also some fabulous shops in Marbella and Puerto Banus, and a local flea market in La Cala, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Places of interest:
Zoos, Waterparks, Marbella, Fuengirola,Torremolinas, Gibraltar, Ronda. Granada. Jerez, Cadiz, Seville and Cordova are a bit further a field, but all well worth a trip for historical interest. It is also possible to catch a ferry from Malaga or Algerciras and visit North Africa on a day trip or a night or two.
Dolphin watch, sailing, diving, surfing, horseriding, tennis, language schools, mountain biking, walking, to name but a few.
There are plenty of good reasonably priced golf courses nearby.
hi, just to let you know that since 2004 we as a family have spent many annual holidays at the apartment, it really is like home from home, but with great weather, and use of the swimming pools!

Very convenient, quiet location, with private access to the beach. Many shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants are just a 5 minute walk away, so there really is no need for a car. Buses for Marbella and Fuengirola also stop outside the complex.
If you want a really relaxing holiday, then look no further!
Marbellamar Beach club is situated along the waterfront in the small seaside town of Calahonda about 35 minutes drive from Malaga airport. It is a pretty coastal part of the Costa del Sol and Andalusia, with many long sandy beaches and intersting towns and ports, surrounded by hills and mountains, quaint little villages like Mijas and Ronda and some beautiful mountain lakes. It is also located near the fashionable ports of Marbella and Puerto Banus, with all their glitz, glamour, premium cars and shiny new yachts. A great place to rub shoulders with the rich and famous. there are also some very ancient and historical places of interest such as Ronda and the Alhambra in Granada, a couple of hours drive. One and a half hours drive will find you in Gibraltar, an English enclave at the tip of the south of spain, a great place to visit for duty free shopping and of great historical importance.
Whatever you are looking for in a holiday, you can find many things to tick your boxes, whether it be to chill by the pools, read a book or two, take off into the mountains on an adventure and discover unseen Andulusia, or visit the many historical venues dotted around this beautifully diverse part of spain!
With the many food outlets situated in close proximity to the apartment, you don't even have to cook!!!
