WILLOW WATERS FISHERY

  • 5 out of 5
Need a break from the hassle of every day life then look no further Willow Water Fishery is the place to go.

We arrived on the 23rd March 2012 to a welcome smile from the owner Denise, we where shown the log cabin where we would be staying for the next couple of days.

The Brown Owl Log Cabin WOW!!!! we couldn't have asked for better accommodation, set on the lake surrounded by woodlands it is so tranquil we where relaxed from the onset, fitted out with all mod cons, cleaned to the highest standard. Have to say the log fire in the evening was so warm and cosy.

I booked Willow Waters as a surprise for my partners 50th birthday, Sarah had put a Balloon, Champs and a box of chocs in the cabin for our arrival what a lovely touch, nothing was to much trouble for Denise and Sarah if we needed anything we just had to call them.

We set up the rods, well my partner did I didn't have a clue, we caught roach, perch and my partner caught
a carp.... what a show off. It was great fun, I have never fished before and I loved every minute of it.

On Saturday afternoon we went into York which is only 12 miles away, we took in the sights of this amazing city, did a bit of shopping (when I say a bit you know what I mean), had something to eat in the Three Tunnes which was excellent before heading back to do more fishing.

We watched the sun set that evening what an awesome view. Sunday was our last day of fishing we wanted to make the most of it so we got up early to see the sun rise. Being able to see the sun set and sun rise is a must for anyone staying at Willow Waters it really is something else.

We didn't want to leave on the Monday we both had a fantastic long weekend. I would highly recommend going to Willow Waters and staying in the Brown Owl Log Cabin to all our friends and relatives. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for 2013.

Thank you Dennis and Sarah for a most memorable stay, see you next year.

SPRING FISHING BREAK

  • 5 out of 5
Like most people I enjoy my breaks away from home, after all we work hard and deserve them now and again. Normally these are centred around our 2 children but this was an exception. Three days fishing for friends James and Gary and 2 days relaxing and shopping for our wives Louise and Claire.
Upon arrival we were met by Sarah who is very friendly and helpful, we were given tips for the fishing as well as local advice for our wives. The fishing got off to a great start and continued throughout our holiday. We did intend fishing another part of the lake and even the middle lake but why we asked ourselves? We could step onto the balcony and have all the home comforts of the luxury brown owl cabin. The cabin was very clean, modern and finished to a high standard. The lake is beautiful and wild and I mostly fish scotland and the lake district.
To summarise I will definitely return, it's an ideal place for relaxing and/or fishing and perhaps one day we will bring the children.
