Overview

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday apartment in Richmond & Kew

Large one bedroom apartment in Richmond (sleeps 2-3) for the Olympic Games

The apartment has a large double bedroom, a slide-out single bed for a child is available on request, a very large bathroom with walk-in monsoon shower and free-standing bath, a kitchen with all appliances and a living room. The flat has a generous amount of radiators and has central heating through out.

Teddington, with its boutique shops, pubs and restaurants is only a short walk from the flat.

Within a short walk you can reach Teddington Lock, Bushy Park, Richmond and Hampton Court.

Heathrow airport is a short bus ride.

Central London is a 35 minute train ride, with trains leaving every 10 minutes for Waterloo.

We are ideally located for many of the London Olympics 2012 games. From the doorstep you will be able to follow the Olympic road cycling event and there is also easy public transport access to many other Olympic events.

From the bus stop opposite, you can take the bus 33 to Richmond (10 minutes), Hammersmith (30 minutes) and the 281 to Kingston (15 minutes).

Nearby events include volleyball (Earls Court), rowing (Eton Dorney), triathlon and marathon swimming (Hyde Park), athletics (The Mall), badminton, gymnastics and football (Wembley), tennis (Wimbledon).

Sailing is at Weymouth and Portland which are only 90 minutes drive. There are also train services from Kingston which go into Central London, Wimbledon, Windsor and the South Coast.

Walk into the riverside town of Richmond: We are 4 kilometres from Richmond upon Thames (a 30 minute walk down the Thames tow path), London’s most attractive borough, which for hundreds of years has been a favourite retreat of Royalty, the rich and the famous. Richmond lies 15 miles south west of central London, just 15 minutes on a fast train to London Waterloo.

The River Thames runs through the heart of the borough for 21 miles linking Hampton Court Palace, Richmond town centre and Kew Gardens with central London. It has beautiful Royal parks and historic houses, theatres, museums and galleries rich with exhibits and town centres bursting with shops and restaurants, the borough rivals anywhere in London.

Great shopping in historic market town of Kingston: We are also 4 kilometres from the historic market town of Kingston upon Thames with its excellent shopping centre and rich variety of attractions on its doorstep including two Royal Parks (Richmond and Bushy) and numerous historic houses and gardens.

There are also three theme parks, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Legoland within less than an hour’s drive.

Kingston has almost three miles of one of the most attractive stretches of the River Thames. There are pubs and restaurants along the riverside, boat trips during the summer months and a wide variety of craft for hire. There are walks and cycle routes to Hampton Court, Teddington and Richmond along some of the most picturesque stretches of the Thames.

Golf: Richmond Park public golf course - no membership required. Other Activities: Rowing, kayaking, polo

The perfect base for a holiday in London

  • 5 out of 5
This lovely flat in Teddington is the perfect base from which to visit London. Not far from Richmond and Kew, it has the benefit of being close to beautiful parks, historical houses, theatres, museums and galleries but also offers the luxury of a quiet neighborhood.

The flat is decorated with style, is very homely, welcoming and immaculately clean! I love the photographs and art work, tastefully selected that add to the uniqueness of this flat!

It is only a short train ride away from the vibrant London city center, ideal for a holiday in which you can leave the bustle of the city behind and have a welcoming home to go to in evening!

Lovely accommodation

  • 5 out of 5
We stayed here overnight when we came to visit family and friends in Teddington. Such a beautiful place and perfect in every way. It's in a lovely location and the flat is beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend it and only wish we had been staying a bit longer!

Location

One of the best things about Teddington is the River Thames at Teddington Lock. Teddington may well be a suburb of London, but with the Thames on your doorstep, fresh air is all around you.

From the town centre, take the high street towards Teddington Lock where there's a lovely footbridge over to a riverside walk at the other side. In one direction you can walk to Kingston (about a mile or so) and in the other direction, towards Richmond (about 4 miles).

If you don't fancy the walk, there's plenty activity just watching the boats go through the lock, and there's a a little cafe serving drinks and ice creams so you can sit out and watch the world go by.

For lunch, there's a pub on the Teddington side of the footbridge called 'The Anglers'. It's a really family orientated pub with a huge fenced off beer garden and a really good playground for the kids.

Touted by many as the most attractive borough in London, Richmond-upon-Thames has been popular with the rich and famous, as well as royalty, for centuries.

With excellent transport links to the centre of the capital, Richmond-upon-Thames is a brilliant candidate for a choice of place to stay during the summer games.

Despite the 15 miles between Richmond-upon-Thames and the centre of London, travel from one to the other takes a mere 15 minutes by fast train service. These are available from the frankly amazing Waterloo train station, which represents the busiest station in the whole of the United Kingdom.
