This lovely flat in Teddington is the perfect base from which to visit London. Not far from Richmond and Kew, it has the benefit of being close to beautiful parks, historical houses, theatres, museums and galleries but also offers the luxury of a quiet neighborhood.
The flat is decorated with style, is very homely, welcoming and immaculately clean! I love the photographs and art work, tastefully selected that add to the uniqueness of this flat!
It is only a short train ride away from the vibrant London city center, ideal for a holiday in which you can leave the bustle of the city behind and have a welcoming home to go to in evening!
We stayed here overnight when we came to visit family and friends in Teddington. Such a beautiful place and perfect in every way. It's in a lovely location and the flat is beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend it and only wish we had been staying a bit longer!
One of the best things about Teddington is the River Thames at Teddington Lock. Teddington may well be a suburb of London, but with the Thames on your doorstep, fresh air is all around you.
From the town centre, take the high street towards Teddington Lock where there's a lovely footbridge over to a riverside walk at the other side. In one direction you can walk to Kingston (about a mile or so) and in the other direction, towards Richmond (about 4 miles).
If you don't fancy the walk, there's plenty activity just watching the boats go through the lock, and there's a a little cafe serving drinks and ice creams so you can sit out and watch the world go by.
For lunch, there's a pub on the Teddington side of the footbridge called 'The Anglers'. It's a really family orientated pub with a huge fenced off beer garden and a really good playground for the kids.
Touted by many as the most attractive borough in London, Richmond-upon-Thames has been popular with the rich and famous, as well as royalty, for centuries.
With excellent transport links to the centre of the capital, Richmond-upon-Thames is a brilliant candidate for a choice of place to stay during the summer games.
Despite the 15 miles between Richmond-upon-Thames and the centre of London, travel from one to the other takes a mere 15 minutes by fast train service. These are available from the frankly amazing Waterloo train station, which represents the busiest station in the whole of the United Kingdom.
