Pink-washed perfection in South Devon

If you're searching for a cosy, well-equipped and charming holiday rental on the English Riviera, look no further than Barnacle Cottage. We stayed here for a fortnight this June and had an absolutely wonderful time.
Not only does it look like everyone's idea of the picture-perfect, pink-washed, wisteria-covered Devon cottage, it's just so well-equipped with TWO SAT-TVs, WiFi internet access and every gadget or piece of kitchen equipment you could possibly need. Add to this 2 charming bedrooms with really comfy beds and the use of the lovely, large, sun-trap garden, what more could you ask?
Galmpton itself is a pretty village (do walk down to the quay) with excellent pub, well-stocked village store and even a common to walk the dog and is so near to Brixham and Torquay and yet away from all their noise and bustle.
Quite apart from being a great cottage for a family bucket-and-spade break, Barnacle is also excellently located as a touring base, with the Dart Estuary and Dartmouth on the doorstep and Totnes, Dartington, Dartmoor and Exeter all within easy reach. Agatha Christie's Greenway is just along the lane and half a dozen other National Trust places are nearby, including Art-Deco Coleton Fishacre and its glorious gardens.
The owner is so friendly and helpful - we were welcomed with a Devon Cream Tea in the garden on arrival - and Barnacle is also very dog-friendly. Your (well-behaved) pooch will be made most welcome but be aware that resident hounds Gip and Jenny expect their four-legged guests to be as nice as they are.
We'll certainly be back!
