Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Horning - Seymour Cottage

2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Seymour Cottage is a cosy Victorian cottage centrally located in the picturesque Norfolk Broads village of Horning and is just across the road from the river. Features include entrance hall, bathroom, open plan lounge/kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, TV, CD Player, DVD player, electric storage heating, front courtyard garden, secluded upstairs patio, use of small private staithe on the river, private car parking. COTTAGE SWAPS CONSIDERED.

What can I do here?: The three main attractions are the Norfolk Broads (rivers and lakes) with rural countryside, the historic cathedral city of Norwich and the wonderful sandy Norfolk Coastline including the bustling seaside resorts of Cromer and Great Yarmouth. All this is less than 30 minutes drive from the cottage.

What are the Norfolk Broads?: The Norfolk Broads are a unique combination of slow meandering rivers with beautiful lakes (locally known as Broads). The river banks include thatched cottages with immaculate lawns (and gardens), reed beds (used for roof thatching) and many pretty staithes (a local word for a place to moor your boat). The best way to enjoy this wonderful National Park is either on-foot or by boat. Boats can be either hired (by the hour or day) or take an organised trip - Norfolk boats are either motor cruisers or traditional wooden sailing yachts.

Lovely stay in a lovely part of the country

  • 5 of 5

An immaculate, cosy cottage in a superb location for visiting the Broads and surrounding area. Everything you would need with very friendly owners who gave us all the information we needed to get the most from our short stay. The cottage is ideal for couples or small families and tastefully presented throughout with lots of information to help you see and do everything the area has to offer.

We ate in the local pubs where the food is good and service friendly and enjoyed a river trip. The highlight of our stay was the walk to see the seals a Horsey; one of the most delightful things we have ever seen.

Seymour Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful holiday at the gorgeous cottage. It was so comfortable. Everything you needed for a week away. A well equipped kitchen, lovely and warm, comfy beds, great facilities and very helpful owner who sent us lots of details of places to see. The local pubs were so welcoming. We will be returning to this lovely cosy cottage.

February break 2015

We had a brilliant time in this little place in Horning. Brilliant value, very comfortable and very warm and cosy. It was a great place to get out and about from for long walks and lots of fresh air. Horning itself is very pretty. Do go and see the seals on the beach!!!

Seymour Cottage, Horning

  • 5 of 5

Had a really lovely holiday at Seymour Cottage in Horning, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. The cottage was delightful, absolutely everything in best condition and so warm and welcoming.

The owners seemed to have thought of everything for guests including games, books, maps, information and directions to local points of interest and restaurants.

A warm and cosy delightful cottage to have a great holiday in.

With its cottages and shops grouped around the village green beside the staithe and its three Riverside Inns, Horning on the River Bure is one of the prettiest and most popular villages on the Norfolk Broads. It is centrally located for the whole of the Norfolk Broads where you can enjoy boating, fishing, nature trails and glorious scenery. The nearby historic cathedral city of Norwich has an interesting castle, alley-ways to explore, museums, theatres, restaurants, night life and great shopping. Less than 10 miles away are the beautiful sandy beaches of the Norfolk Coastline where with so many miles of sand a secluded spot can always be found! At one of these spots In Winter you can see the baby seals being born on the beach

Other Activities: boating, beaches, gardens, craft shops, tea rooms, leisure centre
