Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Horning - Seymour Cottage

2 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sleeps 4

Seymour Cottage is a cosy Victorian cottage centrally located in the picturesque Norfolk Broads village of Horning and is just across the road from the river. Features include entrance hall, bathroom, open plan lounge/kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, TV, CD Player, DVD player, electric storage heating, front courtyard garden, secluded upstairs patio, use of small private staithe on the river, private car parking. COTTAGE SWAPS CONSIDERED.

What can I do here?: The three main attractions are the Norfolk Broads (rivers and lakes) with rural countryside, the historic cathedral city of Norwich and the wonderful sandy Norfolk Coastline including the bustling seaside resorts of Cromer and Great Yarmouth. All this is less than 30 minutes drive from the cottage.

What are the Norfolk Broads?: The Norfolk Broads are a unique combination of slow meandering rivers with beautiful lakes (locally known as Broads). The river banks include thatched cottages with immaculate lawns (and gardens), reed beds (used for roof thatching) and many pretty staithes (a local word for a place to moor your boat). The best way to enjoy this wonderful National Park is either on-foot or by boat. Boats can be either hired (by the hour or day) or take an organised trip - Norfolk boats are either motor cruisers or traditional wooden sailing yachts.

A beautiful cottage tastefully decorated and very clean. Horning, where the cottage is situated is unspoilt and has all amenities needed. I would recommend this lovely cottage to anyone.

We had a fantastic time at the holiday home it was like home from home. I would like to make a few suggestions to make it more comfortable for future guests I think you need a couple of fans as it was very warm in the bedrooms at night also memory foam on the mattresses to make a bit more comfy. Also an internet connection lol it was a family holiday with 2 children aged 3 and 9 there was plenty to do and all local. We would highly recommend a stay at seymour cottage

My husband an I decided to take my parents away for the weekend as they had not had a break for a while due to health reasons. They know Norfolk well and so owe thought it would be a good spot to locate ourselves and drive to the places we wanted to go to.
The cottage was beautiful, clean on arrival with all everything you would need - a home from home, and you can tell the owners take pride in the upkeep of it. We did initally have concerns about the stairs, with the bathroom being downstairs, but when we saw the staircase it wasn't an issue at all. Both bedrooms were doubles and spacious enough and there was just enough room on the drive for the car, which was handy as the road is quite busy considering it's little village. We had a meal out in the Village on the first evening. It was nice, but we did have to wait a long time for our meals, so it was a bit off putting. That said, the meal itself was lovely.
As we had out car (and I do think you need one!) we were out each day to places within a 30/40 minute radius (Norwich, Wroxham, Grt Yarmouth, Gorelstone), all very easy to get to. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and Seymour Cottage in particular!

No faults at all with this cottage. Location perfect.
The cottage is clean, tidy, modern and would suit all ages.
The owners have thought of everything even a football, books and board games.
All kitchen gadgets are there, no need to take anything.
Small children would be safe as there is even a safety gate and baby bath.
Excellent choice of cottage and would definately recommend.

Charming little cottage, great location.

We spent a relaxing long weekend in Seymour Cottage in March. It was our second visit there and we were very happy to return. The cottage is perfect for couples or a small family, providing everything you need for an enjoyable holiday beside The Broads and is very cosy for an out of season break too. Its location is great, just across the road from the river and a stone's throw from the village's two pubs (both serving good food), an excellent fish restaurant, take always, cafés, a deli, small supermarket etc.. Seymour Cottage & Horning make an excellent base for touring The Broads by boat, car or on foot and is in easy reach of the coast, visit the seals at Seapalling beach, and Norwich.

With its cottages and shops grouped around the village green beside the staithe and its three Riverside Inns, Horning on the River Bure is one of the prettiest and most popular villages on the Norfolk Broads. It is centrally located for the whole of the Norfolk Broads where you can enjoy boating, fishing, nature trails and glorious scenery. The nearby historic cathedral city of Norwich has an interesting castle, alley-ways to explore, museums, theatres, restaurants, night life and great shopping. Less than 10 miles away are the beautiful sandy beaches of the Norfolk Coastline where with so many miles of sand a secluded spot can always be found! At one of these spots In Winter you can see the baby seals being born on the beach

Other Activities: boating, beaches, gardens, craft shops, tea rooms, leisure centre

Golf: Golf at nearby Sprowston Manor Hotel, approximately 5 miles away
