We are a family-run business letting self-catering chalet apartments in a stunning mountainside setting at the foot of Mont Blanc. We offer our guests delightfully comfortable accommodation with a truly home-from-home feel, be it for a night, a week or longer...

Chalet Beaumont is a short hike from the Les Bossons glacier and an easy stroll from its picturesque melt water stream. Also just a few minutes drive from Chamonix town and the ski lifts of Les Houches and Brévent, Chalet Beaumont offers the perfect combination of Alpine peace, tranquility and beauty with the essential access to shops, restaurants and an array of activities.

We offer a quick and simple on-line booking process, a selection of complementary and additional services; such as a baby cot or grocery shop, and our on-site chalet manager can help with any questions or requirements you may have during your holiday.

THE APARTMENTS

We have seven holiday rental apartments at Chalet Beaumont, located over four floors. Each apartment has its own lockable front door with direct access to the outside as well as full bath/shower room and kitchen facilities. Being a mountainside chalet there are external steps with handrails all around the building and down from the road itself. Going down the steps, you reach the communal terrace on the ground floor. This is the perfect spot to take in the stunning view of the Chamonix valley and its mountains to the north as well as up towards the Aiguille du Midi.

We offer a great location for families and anyone looking for the outdoors and some calm as we are a little out of the town so there is lots of space around the chalet to build snowmen, toboggan, explore the woods and even ski or snowboard in our meadow, depending on experience. During the warmer months you can make the most of the barbecue on the terrace and even eat al fresco as we have tables and chairs available on the terraces and balconies. Apartment Arnica: Sleeps 2-6 people: One bedroom with twin and bunk beds and living area with twin sofa bed. Fitted kitchenette and shower room. The picture windows offer glorious views of the woods and Brévent side of the valley.

Apartment Anémone: Sleeps 4-6 people: One twin bedroom, one bunk bed cabine and a shower room. Living area with a twin sofabed, fitted kitchenette, including dishwasher and washer/dryer. The picture window offers glorious views of the woods and Brévent side of the valley. Interconnects with Arnica to sleep up to 12 people.

Apartment Campanule: Sleeps 4-6 people: One twin bedroom, one bunk-bed cabine and a twin sofa bed in the living area. Living area with kitchenette and bathroom with separate WC. There is a small balcony overlooking the Brévent side of the valley.

Apartment Centaurée: Sleeps 4-6 people: One twin bedroom, one bunk-bed cabine and a twin sofa bed in the living room. Kitchen/dining room and bathroom with separate WC. There is a private terrace overlooking the woods and mountains.

Apartment Chamomile: Sleeps up to 7 people: One double bedroom, one family room (double bed and single bed) and twin beds on the mezzanine. There is a good-sized living area leading to a large balcony enjoying views of the valley and Brévent.

Apartment Génépi: Sleeps 6-8 people: Duplex with twin and bunk bedrooms upstairs and double/twin bedroom on the ground floor. The living area benefits from an open log fire, double sofa bed in the snug and a kitchenette/dining area which leads to a large balcony. There is also a large bath and shower room. The picture windows offer glorious views of the woods and Brévent side of the valley.

Apartment Gentiane: Sleeps 6-8 people: One bedroom with twin and bunk beds, second bedroom with twin beds and twin sofa bed in the living area. Shower room and fitted kitchenette including dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a private terrace overlooking the woods and mountains.

Apartment Chamomile sleeps up to 7 people: one double bedroom, a family bedroom with double bed plus single bed in the alcove, and twin beds on the upstairs mezzanine, which has a curtain divide. A stair gate is available. There is a large lounge with refurbished kitchenette area which has a fridge with freezer compartment, oven, four-ring induction hob, toaster and electric kettle. There are cookware and place settings for seven people and the large table and benches are a lovely place for family and friends to gather after a day full of activities to eat together. The windows in the lounge offer views towards the Brévent mountain area and there is a private balcony which gets lovely afternoon and evening sunshine. A garden table and chairs are stored to the side of the balcony should you wish to enjoy an apéritif or meal al fresco. There is a newly refurbished bathroom with bath and shower attachment and a heated towel rail; the W.C. is separate. The apartment also has a boot dryer.

About Laura Hely Hutchinson

We are Laura and Greg Hely Hutchinson and Chalet Beaumont has been our holiday home in the Alps since the summer of 2010. We live in the UK most of the year and simply love coming to Chamonix, and are so excited to share our wonderful holiday apartments with you! We come at all times of the year with our little boy, family and friends and simply cannot get enough of all the valley has to offer; sports, culture, shopping and eating.

Our decision to buy Chalet Beaumont came from our love of France, where we had both spent a part of our childhoods, a shared passion for the great outdoors and a dream to provide holiday accommodation which to each of our guests would feel like their own home-from-home in Chamonix - where they would want to come back to time and again.

We and our guests get to enjoy hiking, skiing, mountain biking, paragliding, snowboarding, rock climbing and so much more. The valley is often referred to as a Mecca for outdoor sports so what better place to come back to time and again?

Plus, when the weather sets in we appreciate the time to catch-up on some reading, play a game of Scrabble or watch a movie. We never get bored here!

We had really good time in Chamonix and at Chalet Beaumont. Location and apartment were perfect for us, and we will certainly consider coming back in the near future, probaply during summer time!

SKI LIFTS

The distance by car from Chamonix's ski lifts are as follows:

- Brévent, in Chamonix town: five minutes

- Les Houches: 10 minutes

- Flégère: 15 minutes

- Grand Montets, in Argentière : 20 minutes

- Le Tour: 25 minutes

DRIVING IN CHAMONIX

We usually recommend having a car when staying at Chalet Beaumont as this really helps you to make the most of your time in the valley as Chamonix is more spread out than most mountain resorts. With lots of free parking at the chalet, a straightforward drive into the valley from the motorway and car parks at all the ski lifts it is very easy to get about by car in Chamonix.

ON FOOT AND BY BUS

Walking down from the chalet there are three local restaurants: Le Tremplin, La Cremerie du Glacier and l'Hôtel Aiguille du Midi; all are a 5-15 mins walk from Chalet Beaumont. There is also a bus stop 10 minutes away, just opposite La Cremerie du Glacier. The bus will take you into Chamonix town and to the Flégère ski lift. The train station of Les Bossons is a 15 minute walk down the hill and in the warmer months it is a lovely 30-45 minute stroll into town. As the bus service stops at about 7.30pm you would need to book a taxi back after this time. Please bear in mind that it is a relatively steep walk back up to the chalet so add 10 minutes for walking back.

Going up from the chalet, you can enjoy a 45 minute hike up to a viewing platform overlooking the glacier and if you peer hard, you may see ice climbers risking life and limb amongst the awesome crevasses and pyramids of ice. There is also a chair-lift which opens in the summer season taking visitors from the valley floor directly to the viewing platform and the Buvette du Glacier des Bossons, a pleasant café where you can get a drink and a snack whilst enjoying the stunning views.

Continuing on, now a more serious route, you will eventually come to the junction of the two glaciers, Bossons and Taconnaz, where you can marvel at the spectacular views of Mont Blanc's ice falls. Some of the most famous hikes in the valley begin on our doorstep and indeed the first ascent of Mont Blanc, by Jacques Balmat and Doctor Paccard, started from our hamlet in 1786.

This apartment is on the top floor of our chalet but as it is accessed from the road above it is in fact the most easily accessible apartment as there is just one flight of steps to be walked down to get to the apartment.
