Huelva’s attraction resides in the diversity of characteristics it encompasses: its administrative center and conference facilities and its peculiar British mining heritage, the legacy of Columbus in “la Rabida” (Palos de la Frontera) and the Columbine Sites and the memories of the poems of the Nobel Price Juan Ramon Jimenez in the corners of his birthplace, Moguer. It is a Tartessian city which traces can be seen at the Provincial Museum, Phoenician in the remains of the San Pedro Walls, Roman in the ruins of the old salting factories and Islamic in the Hispanic-Moorish city of Saltes. It is a discoverer city looking at the Columbus monument by Gertude Vanderbilt Whitney, British in the mining wharf of the Riotinto Company. We spent one week (04/08/2010 to 11/08/2010) at Villa Antmar and this was a very good and relaxed stay. We are a young couple with a child (3 years) and a baby (3 months).The house is more than correct (everything you need is there), the pool is fantastic and the site is very quiet. We enjoyed our stay and the weather (maybe too hot :-)). The house managers (Ted and Joan) were very kind. Thank you Ian to give us the opportunity to stay one week in your house ! We recomand it to everybody who wants to relax !

For ultimate relaxation, away from the rat race, a great spot. Lovely house and pool in rural area. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. Highly recommended!
If you want the usual tourist stuff, the villa is not for you. If you are willing to drive some distance on bad roads, tourist hustle and bustle can be found. This is Spain as it used to be before the Costa's were exploited.

A22 TOLLS FOR ALGARVE CAR HIRE BETWEEN JANUARY 1ST AND JUNE 30TH 2012

All Algarve Car Rental Companies will be obligated to pay a 6 months permission to allow their cars to use freely the toll roads. For the car hire companies in Portugal, this will be mandatory. A special rule has been published on December 12th 2011, allowing Portuguese car rental companies to charge locally a tolls tax. This tax is predicted to be between 1.00 EUR and 3.00 EUR.

A22 TOLLS FOR ALGARVE CAR HIRE AFTER JULY 1ST 2012

All Algarve car rental vehicles will have to be equipped with an electronic device identify the car on the Algarve A22 tolls system. The clients will then have to provide valid a credit card and sign a contract with one of the companies in charge of the tolls charges (CTT) valid during the duration of the car hire contract. All toll charges eventually generated will be charged directly to the client's credit card. No charges will be made if the driver doesn't use any tolled roads. However, a mandatory rental charge for the electronic device is predicted around 0.60 EUR daily for all clients.
