Self-catering rental with hot tub, private pool and 30 yards from the beach

A unique opportunity to experience the ex-pat lifestyle while holidaying in Puglia. Casa Mare is owned by English ex-pats now resident in Italy and who are now making their spacious, well-equipped home exclusively available for just a few weeks each year. Benefiting from beach location, 12x6m solar heated swimming pool, external hot tub, air-conditioning, WiFi Internet and all the comforts of home (including cats) all in the heart of Puglia. Fresh seasonal produce including asparagus, artichokes, peaches, strawberries and of course tomatoes, salad and herbs are freely available from our gardens. The Puglia Chef is on hand too, to provide catered meals - traditional Pugliese style - if required (additional costs apply).

Activities: During your holiday, between relaxing by the pool and sight-seeing, if you want to experience more of the real Puglia we can arrange wine tours, olive oil tours, cookery lesson, artisan and market tours, an introduction to Italian or, if you are feeling more energetic, kite-surfing, wind-surfing, snorkelling, scuba-diving, horse-riding, tennis, golf, bicycle trekking, nature reserve walks. please ask us for more details.

Close to Lecce, the Florence of the South, and to the Port of Brindisi. The historic centres of Ostuni, San Vito dei Normanni, Cisternino, Ceglie and others are all within an easy drive. Fasano Zoo Safari and Alberobello, home of the Trulli, the port of Otranto, Gallipoli and and many other beautiful towns/cities are all within 1 hours drive. There is a Water Park near Gallipoli. Lendinuso is walking distance and has a wonderful bakery/corner store open all year and a great butchers (seasonal) as well as markets, geletaria, pizzeria and other entertainment in the season. Torre San Genarro is also close by, half an hours walk or 5 minutes by car offering live entertainment in the season, a small supermarket, bakery, cafe-bars, restaurants and beaches. Nearby towns have supermarkets, butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, post office, bank and hairdressers. Also some great restaurants and cafe-bars. Large hypermarkets, Auchan and Carrefour, within 20 minutes drive.

Notes: Lawn and borders to the front of the villa, sea views to the left and swimming pool to the right as you look out from the veranda. The pool is surrounded by patios. Garden recliners, patio tables/ chairs provided. The 12x6m pool is heated by solar panels and has a solar bubble cover to help retain heat at night, making it available from April to November - year round for the hardy! Pool is cleaned and maintained daily. There is a bar area complete with sink near the pool.To the rear of the pool there is a full size hot springs hot tub, gazebo covered with masses of bougainvillea. Relax with a glass of wine and star-gaze in the soft summer nights. The property is enclosed by walls all around and accessed via double gates. Venture out of the gates and you will see the Adriatic Sea just 30 yards away. The beach here is sandy, small and uncommercialised. WiFi Internet access. Washing machine is in the outside bathroom.

It was a fantastic stay and Debbie and Bob were brilliant hosts. The house and pool were lovely and the sea was very close and warm and very clean.

Great villa for a young family

We had a fantastic 10 days at Casa Mare. The villa is excellently appointed and you would struggle to find a better property for a family holiday with children. The swimming pool and surrounding area are excellent and the hot tub is great for a soak once the sun has gone down. The owners Debbie and Bob are very friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. We had an excellent welcome pack which meant that even with 8 mouths to feed we did not have to venture to the supermarket on the day we arrived. The closest towns are quiet and certainly not for those seeking more adventurous nightlife but are perfect for sampling the simple, traditional Italian seaside location, good food and very pallatable, very cheap wine. It is pointed out in the details but you should definitely avoid this property if you have a dislike of ( or allergy to) cats as they are very present part of the property - which is great for kids and cat lovers. Overall this is an excellent property which offers great value for money.
Recommended for:  Families with Young Children

In the past we have had guests stay with us who have been allergic to cats. They checked with us first ...... the house is steam cleaned at the beginning of the season and the cats are not allowed in the house once the season starts. Those that were here with allergies did not have a problem.
But of course, if you dislike cats, this one is not for you, as they are around and about in the garden.

We have just returned from a great 2 weeks in Case Mare where the 'omni' present Debbie and Bob could not have been more helpful and provided a welcome pack that beats all welcome packs and a villa that has absolutely everything you would every need. Huge pool hot tub restaurant recommendations, fab places to visit, beaches to lie on and seas to snorkel in.
If you have 4 teenagers that you need to keep entertained (huge DVD Colletion on site a god send!) this is the perfect spot.
The only way it could have been improved would have been the addition of a table tennis table - family tradition so no defending title match this year.
Highly Recommended - any thanks.

My stay at casa mara was every thing I hoped for. The add on the computer and what it was like in real life were correct. I would love to return some day. I would recommend casa mara to freinds and family.

My husband Richard and I stayed at Casa Mare at the beginning of the season, the location is beautiful and very versatile, offering peace and quiet or fun and adventure depending on what you are looking for.
The property is extremely comfortable, with full amenities including a big pool and a sheltered sunny garden. The beach is right next door and the general location is excellent for visiting the numerous historic towns close by (Lecce, Alberobello), and further afield (Pompeii – 3.30 to 4 hours away).
Debbie and Bob were like walking tourist information centres, and gave us some great ideas for places to visit that were of interest to us.
The food in the south is very good with a concentration on fresh fish, what we found particularly nice is that the local area was the real Italy and not a tourist trap.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
