La Chagny is the ideal starting point to discover a few of the main assets of Burgundy. Situated in the heart of Burgundy, the 'Parc naturel du Morvan' has the largest mountainbike tracks of Europe (2.400 km), a wonderfull nature that is worth visiting by foot or bike, or for those who prefer the more adventurous way, the rental of quads is possible nearby. Plenty of watersports are possible on the lake 'Lac de Settons' (waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing), or kayak and rafting on de river Chalaux (15 km) or la Cure (10 km). Ancy-le-Franc, Chastelux, Epoisses, etc.are one of the many castles that are the witnesses of the great history of the dukes of Burgundy. At the sommet of the Mont Beuvray (30 km) you'll find the historical site of 'Bibracte' with archaeological discoveries of both Gaul and Roman buildings and artefacts.
Last but not least Burgundy wouldn't be Burgundu without mentioning the wine. As La Chagny is located halfway between the vinyards of Chablis and the great wines of Bourgogne, you are on a strategic spot to taste the wonders of teh 'terroir Bourgignon'.
